Another ewar drone for the mix

Okay two day before christmas, I'll sneak in my addition to the the ewar drone group,

the warp scrambling drone!

The only size for that drone is heavy drone size.

Why?

Think about it, five small warp scrams would be a little overkill, don't you think?

- uses 25mbit
- 10km orbit
- 12km scram range
- 400m/s orbit speed
- 2000m/s warp speed

And I'm thinking the Minmatar line would suit them, because speed and such with a little less hp than the Beserker.
But please not fourty seconds reload on them..

This could open ships for different fittings or not and you basically only need one of them, depending how you use them.

What do you think?

Good? Bad? Breaks EVE? Disbands nullsec alliances? Powercreep?

This thing is so over powered though. 12km scram range? Why, you can't pull that unless you overheat a T2 scram. Further you didn't mention it's scram power. Considering it's a drone something like 0.4 scram strength might be fair (if you try to use 5 it gives the same strength as a single scram module) though that isnt how that mechanism works so it's hard to say what would be fair for their power.

I am okay with the 25mbit usage but orbit and range should be halved. The rest would have to be tested in sisi.

On the other hand you could try disruption drones as well which could have these ranges and be quicker which would fit what you're trying to do. But a scram drone would be way too OP (remember scrams shut down MWD and MJD as well)

Warp disruption drones DO exist in the code. You can see them in joke fits that people link around. There is a good reason they are not given in the hands of players, tho.

Oh you are right, I forgot the most important detail, the scram strenght.

Well I thougt all the tech1 and the tech2 have -2 so it should also have -2.

Another thing to consider is that in a medium or small size ship, you can just shoot the damn thing and it won't hurt you while you do that.

that means with 5 drones you have a warp scram strength of 10and you can orbit at 40k and the target cant do anything to you unless they have long rang weapons. this is very op and should not happen.

i think it would be cool if the only warp disrupt, no mwd shutdown.
if they scram and disable your mwd/mjd they would be crazy OP

Instead of preventing the warp, what if the drone just increased the cap use of prop mods and the cost to initiate a warp? In order to be usable you would probably need to increase the cost of initiating warp by like 100%+ per drone, and prop mods could be 10-25% per drone.

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

Maybe. but i think it needs to be disruptor rather than scram, shorter scram range, and slower. other wise every ship with a drone bay and 25mb (which is quite a few of them) would have them. so smaller ships can still get away but larger ships can use these against other large ships. idk, i'm just trying to think of how this could work without being too powerful or useless.

Warp disruption is currently balanced by it's range restrictions, fitting requirements, mid slot consumption, and cap consumption. Taking up 25 Mb/s is NOT an equivalent amount of restriction on use, and greatly extends the range they can be used at. With perfect skills, drone range is 60km, plus 20-24 per Drone Link Augmentor. An Ishtar, for example, could project warp disruption out to 85 km, which is longer range than even a Lachesis/Arazu overheated with boosts, unless they are using faction or officer disruptors (and you want to do it with a SCRAM!).
