-9.05 standing with Gallente ...Abandon all hope?

Both my "main" characters (Caldari) which I have played intermittently since June of 2004, have Terrible standings with Gallente. One has -6.00 (Raised to -6.00 from -9.05 via Diplomacy 4) the other -5.08 (raised from -7.13 via Diplomacy 3).

I thought I was ok , my Federation Navy standing is at 1.03 (with diplomacy 4). Then I discovered the "Disliked by" tab.

My question is, have I reached the "event horizon" and fallen into a hole I cannot recover from? Are these characters doomed to forever avoid Gallente space?


Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As of a couple years ago, no matter what your standings are, you can run level 1 missions for any agent of a faction. There are Gallente stations outside of Gallente space, so you can in fact recover.

Sisters of EVE storylines give Gallente faction.

Quafe has offices everywhere, as do other Gallente corps.

Tags require a minimum standing to the agent in many cases, you can read about them here : https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Data_center

https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Faction_Standing_Repair_Plan covers everything. As your Gall standings are in the bin, check your Minmatar. Derived standings mean you can work for the nice Minmatar and every faction boost for them will give you a lesser boost for Gallente. So if you can use Minmatar agents you can pull your Gallente standings up by doing Minnie storylines / cosmos / tag handins.

Once you are over -5 to all empire factions, do the Sisters Epic arc, etc. See the "plan" above for more details.

Edit : If you can work for the Sisters of Eve they may be a better choice than Minmatar, as Tau suggests, it depends on your standings to them and Minmatar which would be best. SoE have agents in all the empires but are allied to Gallente so derived standings work in the same way from SoE to Gall.
