Give me a well-forged longsword (hand-and-a-half).

Though I fail to see how the massively armoured constructs in EVE should have problems with small arms fire.

I like this idea and it may even get some support from the anti wis crowd as it is a fun form of pvp.

There is an issue, though. Most mmo players are...er...shall we say ...somewhat unskilled in twitch play. Coordinating the wasd keys with mouse moves and clicks is really beyond their comfort zone. So rather than learn the skills, they will fight against the whole concept.

To bad as I have been waiting years for wis and this could open the door to getting it implemented sooner rather than later.

Of course considerign the kind of Sci-Fi we are talking i think there is a high chance for some low penetration ammunition (call it flak ammo or dispersive) that may have hard issues penetrating the station hulls unless they are previously heavily dmg so most of your knife fight should end like this.

Get your cancer-iNfeck7ed WOW combat items off my mmo.

Futuristic weapons like what will be on Dust, we've seen them on youtube, minus the big stuff. Knives? maybe, sabotage poisons, better. Hacking into hangars and corp computers and stealing data, isk, blueprints, and assasinations of peeps with expensive implants, much better.

Alright alright, I'll be the **** who has to put an end to these shenanigans and point out that CCP has stated across the board that they are more or less done with Incarna. I hate to burst the bubble, but there isn't going to be any "Incarna 2.0" any time soon. Hilmar himself stated that this wasnt a temporary redirection of the company, it is a permanent one. The last we'll see of Incarna any time soon is the rest of the CQ. I expect several more expansions (at bare minimum) before CCP gets back to working on it, and it'll probably have to be because they've run out of EvE backlog and players are once again clamoring for Incarna. Until than, CCP Dev's are only working on spaceships. Thats it.

But you all probably knew that and were just having some fun with wild speculations that you know won't happen anyways, and I'm probably the guy who had to come in and rain on the role play parade. Fair enough, I'll stop, you can get back to LARPing now. Make sure you bring some duct tape, its as good at patching up foam-covered PVC swords as it is repairing a rifter hull breach!
