How exactly do you steal a MTU, only the person that drops it can empty and/or scoop it?

They can also just loot the wrecks. That gives them twice as much loot as there is no loss on the explosion of the MTU. But in the end the result is the same, they get less reward than if they ran their own mission and get flagged for their trouble.

Because its such a poor way to make ISK it rarely happens. If it does happen to you, just grab what you can and move on.

A couple of weeks ago someone in a Loki showed up in my mission and started salvaging my wrecks. Not looting, so no flag. He quickly found out that a Loki is good for many things, but out salvaging a Noctis is not one of them.

I've heard it's just another tactic to get noob mission runners to agress. If someone is in your mission there's a good chance that they're more interested in destroying your ship than stealing your loot. Just ignore them if you're in a PVE fitted ship.... They'll get bored and move on to someone that will fall for the bait.

Its because if your running drones and they attack a MTU the drones will aggress the player thus putting you into " Consentual" PVP even if you didn't mean to.

MTU's have the same loot drop chance as ships. On average 50% inside gets destroyed.

That's a pretty smart tactic. I might try this Big smile

I guess that's another reason to set your drones passive when doing missions.

Another reason to use a Noctis instead of mobile tractor and salvage drones.

Actually the chance of a loot item dropping is the inverse of it's value.

Look up the numerous articles on ships filled with PLEX getting ganked ... and none of the PLEX surviving as loot. Funny, that.

This just happened to my Raven tonight, and I've petitioned it for reimbursed (although with the special kind of ******* only CCP can be, I'm not expecting to get anything). As if drones in missions weren't miserable enough to use.

I'm actually surprised more people aren't talking about this; it may technically not be a glitch but it is clearly against the spirit of the Safety Settings. I understand pvp is omnipresent in EVE, but for CCP to allow this 'backdoor' griefing is just nonsense. This backdoor should not be the isk drain to counter the MTU isk faucet.

Glad the other pilot had the thrill of a ship kill, but this mechanic is absolutely in error.
