This is what Convair B-36 cockpit looks like inside:

Just found it was interesting to compare that to space ship control HUD you see in EVE :)

Over engineered rubbish

There is definately no need for all that

Steve Jobs would not have approved of such a terrible design. He would have made just one button.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

Mind you that that pic is only of the flight engineers station. The pilots only controlled the throttles and the FE monitored all the engine parameters. With 10 engines, 6 recip and 4 jet, it was a full time job.

also, the button he would have made would be the autopilot button.

You can turn 180º and see the 4 jet engine gauges and the pilots' instruments and controls. No automation there and lots of stuff to scan systematically...

Except that's not where it's flown from.

This is.

Edit: Just realised this is a virtual cockpit and you can rotate the cam to see what I just linked.

This must be what it looks like inside a Damage Control module.

50's Technology at its best. Big smile

Classic steam gauge cockpit.

Also I'll see this in OOPE soon.

That reminds me of the B-52's flight crew stations in "Dr. Strangelove." Delivering nuclear bombs was serious business, no room for error. Need a dial or gauge to monitor everything.

Is it time to point out that the hud bears no relation to this as the ship's crew who you are somehow interacting with are seeing those...

Feck, I bored myself to tears halfway through that.

Weird how the bomb itself was so simplistic.

...not that I find atomy-science-things simplistic, but a bomb is pretty dumb in itself.
