POS / Faction Standings Question

Let's say I buy a corp for the purpose of putting up a POS and the only members I put in that corp are ones that have no standing towards any faction. After 7 days will that corp's standings drop to 0, or will it's standings stay high for the lifetime of the corp (as long as the members standings stay neutral) ?

Someone with NO standing will not affect it

Great, so if I'm war-dec'd and have to tear down the POS a month into the corp, I should still have the standings to throw it back up.

Slow down, you will still need to have a char with the required faction standing to put the tower back up.

So, if you purchased a pre-made corp with tower anchored, then took over the corp from that seller and the seller left corp and you took the tower down after the corp to faction standing reset, you would not be able to anchor the tower again.

That's basically what I was asking from the beginning. All the members (of the purchased corp) will be brand new chars with no standing. So, you're telling me that the corp's standings will get set to neutral after they average out.

No, they won't.

Standings will remain at the values when the faction booster left the corp, if all characters in corp have no standings towards any faction. You can anchor or unanchor towers just fine, if you have the required skill(s).

You can even do missions to raise standings towards npc corporations without any problems, if those missions do not alter your faction standing. So basically storyline missions and combat missions have to be declined. The danger of screwing up with combat missions sooner or later is quite real.

If you screw up, it's not an immediate concern for the corp, but you have burnt the char then, since you have to take him out of corp before the seven downtimes rule hits.

Remove standings and insurance.

It will be an immediate concern as, if the char has been in corp for more than 7 days and they gain some faction standing, that faction standing will apply to the corp either immediately or after the *next* DT, not sure which.

The 7 day rule is characters being in the corp that long, not time after gaining/losing faction standings

Thanks, this is what I needed to know, and it's how I thought it worked.

Thx for the hint. I'll keep this on my list of things to try out.

btw, I have done this with an alt of mine, though corp standings not faction. Was annoying as was a NPC corp I was trying to grind standings for JC for the corp, I was the only one running missions for that corp. Had my alt in fleet and accidentally selected the 'share rewards' option. The corp's standing was the average of mine and my alts when I checked the next day.

and STFU if you don't know what you are saying

My high sec corp members have zero standing with anyone, yet they CORP has 9.0 amarr standings and can put up and take down a tower whenever and wherever it wants (In amarr space obviously)

For what it is worth, you can run combat missions without affecting standing for anchoring a control tower. You just can't accept any storyline missions, nor any missions that require you to destroy player faction ships or structures.

Killing faction pirates (Angels, Guristas, Blood Raiders, Sansha, Serpentis), non-faction pirates (no faction icon), mercenaries (no faction icon, but they sometimes drop tags), or rogue drones, is okay. I also decline missions against Mordu's Legion and Thukker, as they have close ties to Caldari and Minmatar.

Example, one of my alts has no player faction standing at all, but has 9.63 standing with Caldari Navy from doing combat missions.
