One of the problem could be music.

If you check Eve related video on Youtube some with the most views are Eve music with a random space image.
Monetization in that case is a little bit problematic considering Music is not the Youtuber property and the image isn't as well.

That said this case should be quite simple but what about people doing videos or commentary with Eve music in the background then?

These legal rules takes time and thinking I guess...

Depending if there is any royalty on the music will dep on the answer. Basically if there is any royalty then most likely they aren't doing something legal (giving they don't have permission). Giving you have some licensing like from http://www.audiomicro.com/ will depend on who you can use the music. http://www.audiomicro.com/buying-music#13
It's fair game giving there isn't a royalty on the pics, video, music, etc.

I wonder what they will say, or if they will even say anything.

I'm interested to see how this topic will play out now that CCP plans to integrate Twitch.TV into the client.

Youtube has started asking me about rights after I made a whole dollar. Hopefully we can get an answer.

I think CCP is OK with us making videos on YouTube. Since they aren't really saying anything I would cut out any EVE Online music, and talk a little during the video.

Anyways, I have over 100 videos on EVE how to and what not. The only copyright notice I've ever gotten on an EVE video wasn't from CCP. It was from a AdRev company that was scamming YouTube's content ID for public and royalty free songs. You can click here to see which video I'm talking about.

BTW, if it wasn't for YouTube videos on EVE Online I wouldn't be playing EVE. Like I do my research before I pick up a copy of a game. Even more so if it's an MMO since MMO games can take years to get done with.
I know I'm not the only one here today because of some YouTube videos they seen before trying out EVE Online for the first time. So I have some serious doubts CCP will go against YouTube videos; unless if it shows off cheats, things that aren't out yet, and so on.

I think that highly depends on who you talk to in CCP. Unofficially, I talked to some about this and they about treat you as some demon or something for even thinking this. Then there are some that about gives you a high five for helping out CCP.

In all honesty, I think it comes down to the lawyers and the uppers. I hope this gets officially answered soon. But, I also hope they keep in mind some of this stuff we (the video makers) are doing isn't cheap. I mean some of us has to keep up $600 microphones, $400 recording software, a $2000 computer, $x amount for help, and so on (giving we are trying to make something that others will want to watch).

BTW, if CCP does officially say yes. They could do some marketing thing to help sell their games, and bring views to video makers videos. Like CCP could upload our EVE Online videos to it's YouTube account, or link them to a playlist. Also, CCP could make a monthly awards for the best EVE Online video.
In return, people will make better videos. More people will see the videos and join EVE Online. And so on

I seem to remember a devblog, which is not the best for legal standings on issues such as this, that said as video creators we own the copyright of the video we make. Its going to take me a while to find it though. CCP has been rather prolific in the past year

Looks like it would essentially just be youtube paying people to promote Eve Online, win-win.

Not really. Youtube or some network partners pays us for letting them put ads on our videos. The more views, the more money.

1,000 views= $1 give or take a few cents and the time of year (This is before YouTube and/or networks take their share)

the thing is, that money is being paid regardless of who gets it. Either the video maker gets a piece, or google takes it all.

not quite true. google only gets a cut if you tell them to monetize the video. if you do not select the video to be monetized google will not run ads on it
