And if it doesn't have a jump drive (The usual crop of these ideas don't), then it has nothing whatsoever to do with actual capitals and will not teach highsec bears anything about how they work.

No, it's not. You haven't defined why we need them, what roles they would have, how they would be balanced against existing ships, etc... Which is to say, you haven't said anything worth discussing.

I've always kinda liked the 1 about the uprated BSes.

Better stats/more mods than a BS (like a BC is to a C)
Short range jump drives (skill req) same range as a BOps (its enough to work with)
Still able to gate travel, but a low low warpspeed similar to existing dreads

break them out into a couple types.
Combat ones, can fit 1 bonused capital gun, w/ a seigelike mod. Or a regular rack of large guns. Seigemode only usable in low/null

Logi ones, Can fit several large reppers, but not a cap repper (would be WAY too OP). Similarly has a "triage" that can only be used in low/null

Carrier style ones, no guns, can fit a full wing of drones, or in low/null can field 1 fighter drone (but bonused even higher than a real carrier would) Also the fighte rcan only be in low/null

Because highsec missions are already so challenging, we obviously need a superbattleship with bigger guns and more hitpoints to run them.

Pretty immobile, easy to bring down, serves no real purpose except to show off.
We could introduce a "parade mode" module. The ship shines prettier and a marching band plays chatchy tunes.
When the module is turned off it shows systemwide in overview and is hostile toward everyone; can be killed by 1 rookie ship within 5 minutes.

Can only fit the long range variants of each turret class (railguns, artillery, and beam lasers?)
100% bonus to optimal and falloff range of large turrets.
10% bonus to (racial variant turret) damage per level.
Long lock-on range
Slow moving
Small tank

CODE is just a bunch of pirates; smart, organized pirates. It doesn't help to rage at them because that is exactly what they want. Dust yourself off and get back on your feet, you don't even have to talk to them.

I dunno the actual term that could be used for the ships. Most all large ship classes have been taken.
Perhaps "Treaty Dreadnought" (Treaty battleships were ships amde in the 20s and were limited in size by the Washington Naval Treaty)

Corvette is another option, but those are usually in games restricted to smaller sized ships.

Lineship is a 3rd option, and maybe more realistic as the ship woudl conceptually be the be all end all warship of the subcaps (however useful they may be, but thats why we talkin here)





Another stupid Idea I have for 1, would be a semi doomsday one. Think like the Zentradei ships in early Macross. Just fire a big beam in the direction the ships facing with most of the ship built around this 1 weapon.


Don't think it would be too hard to do. Could make it like a bomb that has a very small AOE but in a straight line.
Different factions get different weapons.
Gallante gets a shotgun style blast that hits in a cone about 10km away, and like 30degrees
Caldari gets a railgun blast that hits in a tight straight line onyl a few meters across, but travels like 100km
Amarr gets a shorter range, but kinda wider laser blast.
Matar gets a bank of 4-6 big atry cannons that travel out a bit and blow up like 50km away wiht a 2.5km AOE



I dunno though, those would be hell to code and insane to try and build a strategy around. But still fun to think about (Me wants the matar 1 most)
