Can anyone find a use for these things? They seem great in concept but a struggle on the battlefield. The only non-combat drones I've seemed to find use for have been ECM drones in frig combat...

If they really are useless what should CCP do to make these little buggers a not broken game mechanic?

Heavy web drones are great on marauders for getting a nice extra boost of dps vs cruiser sized targets when your doing high-end sites that you can't fit a web for.

They are useless, but they are also used as the argument for drone ships having one less slot than other ships. Because of CCP.

Removing stacking penalty (per flight or user? 2 sets of drones from 2 players = stacking like 2 modules?) on these would be a start. It's pointless to launch flight of eg. target painting drones, when with 4 you've already hit the stacking penalty hard and each of the bonuses is small already.
I'd say 5x TP/Web/blabla drones should have effect like half of the real module? Neut drones could be slightly better?

the problem is the stacking penalties on them

ECM drones each have a % chance to jam.

TP, Web, and td all do a base % and is stacking penalized for each additional one. So a full set of 5 tp drones means a nill sig bloom.

I have seen nuet drones used effectively. They work. Its the other 3 that really need some love.

Oh that is gold.

On a serious note, ECM drones have won me fights on more than one occasion, and I can think of many ships I have exploded that would still be flying today if their pilot had thought to pack five of those little buggers. They are extremely effective against a single target if you have enough tank to survive for 30-40 seconds.
