My first few weeks in EVE playing off and on, learning the ropes (wasting time really I should be studying) doing the tutorial, some of the career agent missions and I come upon the industry agent and I hesitated.
I had read in the forums and in Amarr local about the miner. This hated victim who plays the game and reads Plato at the same time. Sometimes forgetting even that she is playing a game and while pondering the Form of an asteroid might not notice that her cargohold is full and that her mining laser has stopped.
But I did it anyway I mined exactly one veldspar when suddenly I felt the rage of the universe upon me and I wept.

There's no shame in mining if that's what you like. It creates content for people who want to gank you, so you are really providing a community service when you mine.

Semi-afk victims make up only a subset of miners.

That first night in game, Ismol cost me two packets of cigarettes, he never made a sound. Arrow
