personal POS.... Why can't I?

I bought a small pos... it's my first one ever. But I can't set it up without a corp allowing me the roles to do so. But they can't just let me control my own pos. The roles to do so allow me to manage "ALL" of them or none of them. They don't want me to be able to do that. Why the hell are these things so awkwardly structures. Why can't a pos be a personal pos. Why are they always tied to corp and why has ccp set up the roles so that one person can control one pos that is their own and not all the others? This can be done with offices so the idea of honeycombing is done in some respects....
I personally think I should be able to anchor a personal pos, but even if that's unacceptable to ccp then the idea of assigning one person control of one pos and everything within it is easily workable enough..... It's not unreasonable to assign a corp member admin roles in pos management. I'm really mad right now... my corp leadership is all asleep and I can't do **** with the pos I just paid for....

You are in an alliance. Have you considered starting your own corp and joining the alliance? You could even do it with an alt if you don't want to leave your current corp. It costs the alliance 4 million ISK per month to add a corp.

Ask your corp and alliance leaders about that.

Then you / your alt would be CEO, and all POS and roles would be up to you (corp standing would also be up to you to obtain).

That misses the point.... I'm posing this in the hope that CCP will make a change and add individual admin lists too the pos management rather then just corp roles. This is a request...

The main reason is probably because pos's used to be tied to taking sovereignty in nullsec. Due to the various problems that would come up if an individual owned sov/station/pos, pos's were a corp only feature. To change this would require reworking pos's; they have said that the pos code is a huge web of terrible code and thus have been avoiding it.

As a solution, they released the mobile depots and other "non-corp" anchor-able structures.

yes but they've yet to give us structures that are actually useful in this regard. We're still waiting for the mobile lab CCP!

If you want freedom, you have to create an alt-corp, as others have suggested. This is what I've done with my main in another corp/alliance. Remember for high sec POS you need corp standings to actually anchor it, so if that's your intention make sure your highest standing character is the one who starts the alt corp or buy a corp with standings "off the shelf" if you don't have a character with it high enough already. Getting standings is a long and tedious mission grind and/or an expensive tag spending spree.

I think what we really need is something to bridge the gap between the mobile storage platform thingy and a full fledged POS.

Heck, if they just added a "Personal BPO Copy Structure" I think half the hisec POS would vanish overnight and these things would fly off the shelves as fast as people could build them.

Pos are Corporation or Alliance Tools , if you dont have any roles and your corpmat or alliance mat fail , its a systemic failure , so Shake coconut palms heads of your Ceo for obtain role or ...;)

Personal corporation brings many advantages. Like poses, one isk account for all your alts, corp bookmarks....

You didn't research this before you dropped all that cash on a pos? Anyway, as others have said either have your corps leadership give you roles or make an alt corps.

The new structures are the beginnings of the new pos feature so over time this is the mechanic that will replace legacy posses.

CCP did this to make holes in responsibility roles of every god damn task in Corps so people can screw each other by scamming and running away with Corp assets. In addition they are lazy to fix these issues. Please make yourself comfortable and enjoy their new mobile structures that they spent 6 months to develop.

Lady Areola Fappington:  Solo PVP isn't dead!  You just need to make sure you have your booster, remote rep, cyno, and emergency Falcon alts logged in and ready before you do any solo PVPing.

You can't wardec an individual, so how would you attack their tower (in hi-sec) ?

If you could wardec an individual it'd open up a whole new griefing game for CCP to have to deal with. Whole alliances would grief players out of the game. People could effectively take over and control all the good hi-sec agents by wardeccing everyone seen in the agent system with their 0.0 chars, while earning LP on their hi-sec alts and charging top ISK for the LP store products.

The mobile structures may be CCP's babysteps approach into the world of personal towers or whatever. Give it time and an alternate may appear that lets you do what you want, but doesn't require a moon but can probably be reinforced by anyone with them only going suspect.

You could even go here and post a suggestion.
