Most well known small gang pvp corps?

As someone else already stated, the terms are pretty fluid and if you have a specific definition in mind you would probably do good in defining it a bit better in the thread.

If you want to make some really crude generalisations...

Lowsec tend to span everything from solo PvP to larger single-corp groups with assets. The nature of gated PvP make alot of naturally occuring engagements upsized a bit and smaller ships tend to be relegated to duels or similar semi-agreed-upon combat (by hitting or baiting celestials in hotspot areas). The most common thing you'll see is probably BC-to-BS in numbers you can count on one hand.

In short: 1-5, BC-BS for camp/bait/bust or smaller ships in duel-oriented gameplay. The main actors are usually either high-profile solo-esque groups or old pirate groups.

NPC-null and FW are natural transitions for single-corp groups who want more flexible engagement options than what's offered in lowsec and empire (invole smaller ships in natural emergent gameplay) and tend to offer larger engagements on the side, in the upper tier of the span. FW offer militia-wide fleets and NPC-null do have some larger entities or conflicts that spur relations from time to time. However, it's very rare to see gangs rise above 30-40 medium size, while the median is likely 10-15man small-medium gangs. If hotspots are important in common lowsec, when broadening the regional spectrum a bit, these areas have traditionally been home to roaming groups, groups that otherwise tend to be nomadic and stage in accessible areas.

In short: 10-15, roaming-oriented, frigate-cruiser-BC, often slightly more techy tactics and ships (mobile, range, field-control). The main actors are often old or fragmented roaming groups (see related threads: Syndicate, Curse, Stain, Venal, Fountain etc).

With the starbase-oriented nature and organisation demands of W-space they tend to grow just above the aforementioned areas and the typical groups that thrive in it. It's pretty self-explanatory, as a 10-man roaming gang will have alot of trouble with a POS. Not to say that there isn't small-gang opportunities in WH space, from ganks to roams to small-scale invasion or skirmish, but you should expect the groups there to both have larger toys and being more keen on utilizing them (effectively, at home court) - and whatever sporadic ties are knit in NPC-null, you can expect the nature of W-space to form more dependable bands.

In short: about the same size, perhaps tuned to the higher span (25-30), more presence of larger resources and lean towards remoting tactics (armor, tech II-III-BS, logistics, triage). The main actors tend to be a mix of groups tired of the political climate (smaller sovnull groups, corps who have left larger alliances and old roaming or pirate groups; as with npcnull and FW, a good tip in finding a corp is following the regional political threads on community sites with functional "CAOD").

Once you start hitting Sovnull it's usually "cork-out", since the smaller or less experienced entities in sovspace are usually restricted more by organisation than numbers alone. As it stands numbers is such an important factor and trends in the political climate mean that a large pool of low-demand players, in larger - more easily controlled - groups is far more useful to the established forces in the respective regions, than smaller capable groups with an ambition of their own. The norm quickly go from advanced single-dual corp medium size (-50 gang) groups to larger 1000-2000 man alliances (with 50+ BC-oriented fleets). You may see smaller entities roaming Sovspace, but hardly any of them live there in terms of assets or downtime locations, due to the nature of volumous starbase combat and the conservative political life.

In short: blobs ohoy, the more advanced groups obviously lean toward larger resources (traditionally, a strong BS to capital profileration).

Then, as always, there are splashes of convergence of course.

however, you can always go NRDS and enjoy daily gang fleets in null sec in Providence ... thus being civilized towards neutral citizens and enjoying a huge pvp experience and fun in the same time Smile

HahahaaHAHhahahahaLolLolLol

Or you can burn anything that isn't blue, dance from said accomplishment, find out destroyed ship was an alt of your corpmate's, and then laugh it all off.
No but seriously, going pie gives you more combat situations and potential "friends" that might be a bit "happy" that you popped their shuttle and they come back in some bling golem with railguns.
