The bottleneck in EVE is server side.

Don't waste much money on a PC built specifically for EVE.

Not today spaghetti.

Just a word of advice:

Do not skimp on your PSU.

I didn't, and when it died, all my other components were still intact.

Odds are you'll take it with you through multiple rigs, anyways.

A few simple pointers to buying a PC for eve

CPU - Intel i5 at least
RAM 8GB at least 16GB pref
Gfx card - DDR5 RAM if you want serious high fps capability probably need dual cards
SSD hard drive (install eve on it if poss)
1TB secondary hard drive
a Decent motherboard
a gaming mouse

everything else is periphery

Does EVE really benefit from being installed on an SSD? The game seems largely network limited when changing areas more than other factors.

MOST IMPORTANT THINGS FOR EVE:

READ THIS

1ST- FAST PROCESSOR, AND I MEAN GHZ NOT CORES. GHZ IN YOUR PROCESSOR IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR EVE. 2 CORES IS ENOUGH, BUT 4 CORES BETTER.
2ND - POWER SUPPLY, BUY A GOOD ONE, STABLE, THAT CAN HOLD ON TO ITS POWER CONSUMPTION BY THE PROCESSOR.
3RD - GRAPHICS, LAST GENERATION GRAPHICS CARD LIKE 760, OR EVEN THE GEN BEFORE 660TI (YOU DONT NEED THIS MUCH BUT ITS ALWAYS BETTER TO BUY AN OP ONE FOR THE FUTURE)
4TH - SSD (YES SSD MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE IN EVE, INSTALL EVE IN SSD)
5TH - RAM, 8 GIGS MORE THAN ENOUGH

.. THE REST MOSTLY DONT MATTER

No, the people jumping out saying SSD makes a big enough difference to be worth the cost, and misquoting me etc, are mistaken. I run EVE on full settings at 60fps just fine, and it's on an HDD, no SSD to be seen, not even a cache drive.
