LP for PVP

OK so FW players get LP for killing opposing faction members.

Personally I don't see why this could not be extended for the general good of low sec increasing it's population and lawless everyone versus everyone feel...

Why not award LP for the local pirate faction for killing people in a low or high sec region - e.g I kill some random guy in placid I get FW style LP rewards from serpentis?

But wait that is not fair so...

Why shouldn't a guy who kills someone with a sec status below -5.0 get concorde LP?

So we get a lovely little set up where low sec PVP carries rewards for all and this encourages people to venture into low sec to commit acts of piracy/bounty hunting.

Scammers are currently selling killrights on this toon for up to 5mil, if you have paid for this service demand your money back at once.

Free LP for something I do anyway? Sounds good. Hope smartbombing 2b+ pods generates lots of LP.

Keep in mind that loot drops + insurance payout + bounty payout + your LP payout must be always be less than the cost of a ship. Otherwise people can farm their own bounties with alts. And since even now just bounty + insurance is very close to the ship price, you will have to nerf one or the other.

A valid argument, but it has to be pointed out that if this is the case a similar nerf is necessary anyway for FW as I was proposing using their system as a model. Nothing to stop me having an alt in caldari and an alt in gallente FW

OFC, you could negate this simply by applying an insurance risk waver where insurance payouts in low sec are halved (or similar) due to the underwriting risk involoved.

Its not that bad an idea, but the game would have to process the standings, to make sense of whether or not the locals would approve or disapprove.

ie serpentis hate this character, so killing this character in serpentis space would make sense if they handed out LP for it, but it wouldn't make sense if they handed out LP for killing someone that was running missions for them.

In FW (which is your comparison) they get LP for kill that goes to the faction you belong. So Amarr player gets LP for 24th Crusaide for killing Mimmatar players and you're suggesting that killing a -5.0 sec standing player would give you Concord LP. Then killing possitive sec standing players would give you pirate LP. So here are my questions:

Would this LP gain for only non FW players or would FW players get Concord/Pirate LP for kills?

Would FW players be able to double dip LP gain? For example; if I kill a Mimmatar player with -5 sec standing, would I get LP for my faction and Concord?

How much LP would be gained? Would it be a rolling amount or fixed? By rolling I mean, I would get more LP for killing someone with -10 sec standing then killing someone with -5. As for pirate LP, would it be based on the standings killed player has with local pirate?

Would this only be in low sec or would it extend to null sec and WH space? If yes, then what would happen if you live in Drone space and how would it work in WH space being the local rats are Sleepers?

Interesting idea, but should probably require some kind of opt-in, rather than just randomly just throwing LP at everyone whenever anything pops.

Specifically, if you want to earn pirate LP for lowsec fights, that's fine... but you should've had to talk to a pirate agent of some sort to set up the deal, and it should give you some kind of pirate flag (not unlike the FW flag) to let people know whose side you're on. That way, anti-pirates can play the same game, but on the other team, supporting CONCORD (or the empire of their choice; any FW side should also be opposed to the pirates).

This seems like a cool idea.

In answer to this vaguely, and hey i am just tossing out an idea here,

Would seem logical that FW players get FW LP for killing another faction but if the other guy is also -5.0 they do not get additional lp.

in other words a priority table so you can only receive lp from one source for a kill. I would also keep the lp amounts based the same way as fw (i believe based in value of the ship).

As for the opt in thing it would make sense since the fw stuff requires it, so yeah I agree.

EDIT: Oh as for the where, I reckon it should be a strictly low Sec/Null sec thing balances fighting for or against concord influence.

Hm... LP for popping ships in low or NPC(?) null...

What should be handed out for those LP? Drugs? Faction modules? Faction ammo?

I can think of this as a "third Party oprtion" for FW and for the non-FW areas as well with perhaps half the FW LP that are to be earned from fighting for those empires. The reason for that could be that the local "pirate faction" simply might want to encourage any empire loyalist to suffer their wrath. So why not ask for capsuleer support?

Could that be a way to "loose" the protection of CONCROD turning Serpentis or Guristas space into "your high sec" as you befriended the local authorities?
