CCP has said multiple times that they want alliances to occupy the space they own but at the moment they don't have to.
They just pay a sov bill that increases for each system owned.

What I suggest is that the TCU's and iHubs have fuel bays and require fuelling on a weekly cycle.
This would mean that the holding corp has to be occupying the area otherwise these would go offline and sov would drop.

I suggest that the TCU and iHub would accept something that is made locally by industrialists or imported.
The volume / quantity needed would have to be large enough to make logistics a pain if importing thus creating a need for occupancy.
Something like fuel blocks would work... maybe less PI and more types of mined product.

Hopefully this would reduce the amount of systems claimed but empty, forcing alliances to consolidate.

Thoughts ?

This would do absolutely nothing. POS fuellers would have to add one extra stop per system, that's it.

Alliance logistics guys would siege Reykjavík.

I refer you to "The volume / quantity needed would have to be large enough to make logistics a pain if importing thus creating a need for occupancy."

Was thinking like 2/3 of a JF's cargo hold to fill it.

Yes, make a game a chore and punishment instead of fun. That will fix it.

So, make the logistics guys commit suicide then?

This has zero impact on the line member and just puts more work on the shoulders of a handful of people. That's not a solution.

this was done before. SOV changes in dominion reducded the workload of pos slaves and they didn't have to keep several pos' fueled up all the time. If a pos slave it was a good change. Have some empathy for them, its a crap job.

Alliances claim extra space because they need to. Buffer space in case of attack or premade turn key systems for new members or renters.

Also you need to look at what tz the corps in the alliance are actually on. I was in an alliance that recruited from the oceanixc/asia tz heavily (I live in this timeframe).

So if a USTZ player roaminng the area in the say East Coast primetime of say 2000-2300 local there'd b a very good reason why a block of like 8+ systems was real light on population if not completelly empty. Me in Japan and many of my sheep shagging and shackle dragging corp mates were in bed or at work/school. Conversely when we were out roaming 2000 to 2300 our prime time it was not surprising if space occupied by US tz heavy corps was dead....most of the US players either in bed, or at varying stages of getting ready to go to work/school.
