Hello there,

So this is my first post. A new capsuler. I tried Eve four times before but it never stuck, until attempt number five, hence here I am.

I was doing OK. Sisters of Eve done solo, loving my Amarr Coercer, even if it was a little power hungry. I thought now I had a good few million in the bank I would "upgrade"

Now I am not having so much fun in my Omen and am really struggling with L2 Sec content I was enjoying before.. But I sold my Coercer and I only have 3 million left....

Any tips, ideas, abuse for me? ;)

Sell the cruiser? Try anomolies? Run the tutorials for another agent until you are given another destroyer?
Try one of those.

Not for the same agents, but each race has three starter corps, each one has the career agents, so there are 12 sets of agents in total. Just find the agents for a different starter corp (use the Agent Finder. Eve menu-> business-> agent finder)

You may have upgraded too soon skill-wise. Cruisers are less forgiving to low skills than frigates. Get a new coercer, work on your cruiser skills, try it again in a week or two.

Train for drones. Use range. Big guns not so useful against small ships up close.

1. Bigger isnt always better.
2. Minimum skills doesnt make you able to fly a ship effectively.

But you already found those 2 out.

A cruiser uses medium sized stuff, which have a harder job tracking small frigates that are numerous in L2 missions.

And your skills that apply to the dessy are likely better then the ones that apply to your cruiser.

I would recommend selling the omen, and running the Sisters of EVE epic arc in a frigate or destroyer. It'll give you some 40 mil worth of stuff over the course of it and it provides a good introduction to a bunch of stuff. By the time you're done, you'll know what you're doing more and be able to comfortably afford your Omen.

What weapons are you using on the Omen? If you're having trouble hitting small stuff you might want to use pulse lasers and have tracking enhancers or tracking computers on your cruiser.

Omen's specifically are hard to get the best out of without good backup skills. You could try a Maller in the meantime as they tank hard and fight hard a little easier than the omen.
