Can a salvage drone 1 and salvage drone skill 3 work on a Dark Blood Herald Wreck?

I can't find where to calculate the chance of success.

It seems to be very low.

The wreck cargo loot included Dark Blood Herald Tags and a Dark Blood EM Plating. So I suspect it may be a leader type ship that needs a higher salvage chance.

But I've no idea where to find that information.

Alright it's too difficult.

Found that out by jumping into a ship with a Salvager 1

Which gave me a message that this salvage would not be possible.

Salvage Drones don't give this message. -.-

Salvage drones have a pretty terrible chance of salvaging.

A salvager 1 with salvage tackle rigs should be able to do it with salvaging 3.

You'll knw if your salvage drones can't salvage a high-difficulty wreck by the fact they won't send you the message "salvage attempt failed" every few seconds - they'll just circle the wreck forever.

Salvage Drone Operation 4 will be enough for them to salvage small faction spawn wrecks.

I'd like to add it's always a good idea to train skills up to level 4. The bonus increase gained for training level 4 is well worth the few extra days of training time.

Also those ships are known as Commander NPC's.

commander (and tech 2 ship) wrecks have a -10% modifier to salvage chance. So, if the salvage chance is below 10% (as is the case with salvage drones), you will never be able to salvage anything.
