IP ban the entire country of China,well, in fact, no use. Chinese can use VPN or some other ways to get a non-china IP, and VPN is very cheap, less then $10 a month.

Since Serenity is some kind of a "wallfire" and there are enough RMT demands, bots will stay there and earn "easy money".
And also, IP ban the China couldn't help to avoid bots from other places, espcially those chinese bots can use VPN as "Jumpbridge"
SO, I think the best way is Tranquility GMs pay more attention to RMT and bots, no matter where they come from

As racist as I may sound (even though I am Chinese, an ABC) I hope that a merger will never occur or have the Chinese be allowed into Tranquility, simply cause of how the Chinese people are.

EDIT: I still think finding some way of getting us all playing together is a desirable aim, but now I have a better understanding of the complexities. maybe if the licence really does run out in 2015, they will give the Chinese players a really good offer to create new chars on the World server.


It's not up to CCP... it's up to China's laws, which I don't see changing any time soon.

There's just not enough room for our toxic culture there. Confucian ideals hold back innovation and cause some types of corruption, but they provide order to a truly massive number of people. Subclass meaning a sub class of the main/parent class. The main class being Human. The subclass being Asian. (And the subsubclass being Chinese :p) I got a feeling you somehow took that as something negative lol, don't know why though.

I'll respond just so you can make another 50 cent replying with uneducated gibberish. Is eve played in Taiwan on the serenity server or are they allowed to congregate with the rest of us toxic individuals?

...and I'm fairly certain I know more about the situation than you since you didn't get the little red book reference and thought I was just barking some made up stuff. I'll go out on a limb and assume that information is blocked where you're posting from?

Serenity kind of puts a dampener on the whole one server thing. I would actually like all of eve to be on one server however CCP continues to prostrate itself in front of the evil commie capitalist corrupt overlords of China. I have a feeling things would be better regulated from Iceland than China.

No thanks. EVE has enough bots already. It's not a reason to give up a righteous battle just because you might not win.

Also, you've basically made an argument that you may not like the result of:

The Chinese are monstrously toxic gamers as a culture. They destroy everything they touch, the evidence of which is that they are destroying their own server as we speak.

You claim that, if we IP ban their country that some of them will find a way around it, and come here to ruin our game too.

So, the only result we can come to is that the United Nations should simply cut their country off from the rest of the internet. Sever the fiber lines that are outside their border. I mean, the DoD estimates that some 90% of all cyber crime comes from China all by itself. It's better for all involved that their vile behavior is confined to their own domain where they can only hurt one another.

Not that this is either feasible for CCP to undertake, nor will it ever occur. Just playing devil's advocate here.
