Hi

I am in the strange position of being classed as a veteran of EvE but at the same time i feel like a complete noob. I have flown some of the most expensive ship in some of the biggest fleets and feel i do not have the knowledge or ability to back up my veteran status. I am looking to rectify this with the help of some true PVP'rs.

Basically I would love to learn the ropes of "real" PVP by getting involved with small gang warfare with a corp that knows how small gang works. I want to join a group of people that can help polish up my enthusiasm to the point where I am more of a danger to other than myself when i undock. So please take a look and if you think i might be a fit then give me a shout.

What I Can Offer
Arrow I am an EvE veteran and know a lot about the game in general if not about PVP.
Arrow I can fly most ships and would love to be able to do this without embarrassing myself.
Arrow I am determined and enthusiastic.
Arrow I am mature (35) although my wife would strongly disagree with this comment!
Arrow I am self sufficient.
Arrow I do not mind dying in a fire if there is lols to be had out of it.
Arrow I am active and play 1800 to 2400 EvE Time most nights.
Arrow I have TS3 and a working mic although I can use what ever voice comms you require.

What I am Looking For
Arrow Relaxed atmosphere.
Arrow Fun environment. I want to log on and have fun playing eveAttentionAttention
Arrow Knowledgeable player base that enjoy passing that knowledge on.
Arrow Patient pilots who do not mind people making mistakes...... too much Oops
Arrow Active group of pilots who play mostly 1800 to 2400 EvE Time.
Arrow Low sec over nul sec.
Arrow No CTA and POS bashing s**t. Its frankly dull and I would rather masturbate with a sand paper glove than do it again.
Arrow Small gang warfare, piracy or any other kind of "small scale" stuff. (Not keen on the idea of just sitting on a gate though)

Anyway that is about it. If you think you could offer me a home then let me know here. This is an alt as my main is not out of his current corp yet and i would prefer to stay incognito until I am home and hosed.

Thanks

From most of your text, I'd say you'd enjoy QCATS to be your new home, but we lack on one of your pre-reqs: we're not a training corp. With that said, let me say why you might enjoy being with us:

  • We're one of the best corps at small-gang/solo PVP out there - most of our killmails have 1-5 involved parties;
  • We're very active - we just scored over 5.000 kills on November alone, we're current #2 on BC "all time", and we've been #1 on "recent activity" for quite some time;
  • We're all about solo and small gang PVP - we hate big blobs and "just-press-f1" fleets;
  • Our only rules are not beeing a d**k in local and honoring agreed upon 1x1s and ramsons;
  • We don't do structures, so no bashes or CTAs. Whenever we do pre-arranged fleets, they are not mandatory.
  • Fly whatever you like, as long as you afford to lose it - we really don't care about KB efficiency;

As I said, we are not a training corp, but we strongly believe that the only way to learn to PVP is by PVPing, so whether you join us or not, if you're interested in becoming better at PVP my only advice would be to stock up on frigates hulls (as they are cheap), undock and find some fights. You'd be amazed on how fast you learn by doing it.

We don't mind sharing experiences or giving some pointers, but don't expect QCats to lead you by the hand on PVP, neither should you expect daily fleet ops.

What should you expect if you decide to join us:

  • Very laid back corp;
  • Mature people - most of us are 25+ - but most of our wives would agree with yours Roll
  • Very active people - our strongest TZ is still US TZ (east/central/west) - but we also have ppl from AU and EU TZs
  • Small, unorganized, gang-work: on our day-to-day, we log in, get into TS3, select a ship we feel like losing, join what we call a "Not A Fleet Fleet" (NAFF), undock and roam around looking for fights. If we find something we can take alone, we engage. If it's more than we can take, we give the intel in coms, dive for point and hope backup arrives in time (we get epic kills using our 10% rule!).

The point I really need to stress on is the last one (our NAFF modus operandi): if you don't think you'd be confortable roaming alone like this, we're probably not the corp for you. But if you think you'll have fun doing it, then I encourage you to read some more here:
