But that's not what's happening. If he really leaves he is basically yelling "I'm out of here" to the village and then getting on the train. What's the point?

Im letting my accounts expire this week for the fourth time in 2 years. I always came back when new content came out that sounded interesting so maybe I will again.
I feel like there are a lack of goals in eve. I know it's a sandbox and "make your own content" but under that rezoning I could just get some legos and make my own content.
Factional warfare is dissapointing, any number of pilots have little to no effect on the warzone, the entire mechanic is driven by lp farmers.
I'll be back when there are more ways to interact and claim space outside of null sec, and/or they revamp factional warfare. I like eve, i hope soon :)

i think your problem is playing solo in a game designed to be played with friends. you can only last so long playing solo before you become numb and bored.

Just as in real life, everyone creates his own excitement. Some sit around at home (in stations) and complain about life, others go out to parties together (PVE) or are passionate about sports (PVP).

If you are bored, it is just because you dont dare to do anything. Pick something in Eve you would never naturally do, and just do it. Well, except for mining, that is. Taking breaks is fine, most people do that, but there are many exciting places in New Eden, its your choice as always: Wether to act or wether to wait.

I have removed some rule breaking posts. As always I let some edge cases stay.
Please people, keep it on topic and above all civil!

The rules:
4. Personal attacks are prohibited.

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another forum user. Posts of this nature are not beneficial to the community spirit that CCP promote and as such they will not be tolerated.

This thread is also moved to OOPE where all 'quit threads' belong.

Blame FaceBook for teaching people how to publish their entire lives in print. It's the way of The Future.

Part of the reason I quit FB was getting pummeled, by high school classmates from 30 years ago, with pictures of things like "Here's my pizza at Spago's Las Vegas"

brb taking a picture of me typing this post so I can post a picture confirming that I wrote the post I'm currently writing.

Throw a hashtag or 50 into that and you have instagram in a nutshell.

As an old-timer I can tell you these posts date back from the earliest MMO days Smile, in the Before-time. The long, long ago.

I agree, why bother communicating with people in an MMO. Its overrated.

But that's not what's happening. If he really leaves he is basically yelling "I'm out of here" to the village and then getting on the train. What's the point?

That's exactly right. It's against human nature to commit a lot of time and effort to something, then just quietly leave. You have to yell "I'm out of here" and get on the train. If people acted logically and just separated quietly, we wouldn't have any dramatic love story films. Or even any Hollywood at all.

By the way, in addition to Legos, Lincoln Logs are still good. You can make a horse corral like Legos can't even dream of.

I must be the exception, then. I quit MMO's before without making a fuss. If I don't like a game I leave. If I am interested again, I'll resub. Quit EVE several times, never once mentioned that on the foru... Oh damn.
