With missiles, you also have missile support skills, which will work towards all missiles. Where for guns, you should have Tech 2 guns just because of the application Tech 2 Ammo offers. With missiles, you're fine most of the time shooting faction ammo. The Meta variations of missiles also only offer more rate of fire, the damage you deal per volley stays the same. With Turrets and reskilling, you can do those 3 weeks or so with meta guns, yeah, sure, but you should totally look into getting it to Tech2 asap if you intend to use that system often!
For missiles, you're set with skill to 4 for long time. You'll shoot faction ammo most of the time anyways.

I've had a couple of go's at using RLMLs since and my attitude has softend a little.

In the Caracal example you can split launchers to sustain your dps for longer, and you can pre-load with say mjolnir for first set and nova for second set. Need to keep auto-reload off to change ammo as situation dictates but I had a nice 1v3 fight using this approach.

RLML was a little bit easymode before and I still could do with capacity being a little higher just to let launcher groups overlap slightly more but I do get why they made changes.

CCP nerfs all Missiles enough that i just won't skill them anymore and plan to sell the missile toons I have. It's just disappointing to invest that much effort into a weapon system and have the designers just remove the value.
They should just remove missiles entirely from the game and be done with them.. They were a bad idea to begin with, if they have to play take away all the time.

If a game designer sets up a game that requires months of training to use a weapon system effectively for WHATEVER purpose the game has in store for them, they should NOT nerf the weapon so much that it is no longer useable. ... think a little before you throw something in game. I thought that was why you had the test server. Don't introduce RLML at all if you're going to pull it in a year or whatever... poor game design really!

Truly I just love the space game thing, if there was ANY other game , I would just bail on this one.

Maybe Star Citizen will shine, but that's a few years...whatever... this game just is so dang short sighted it's frustrating.... Why no arena for regular PVP matchups, regular mmo games level up for vets without destroying prior achievements.... stupid sandbox argument.

Although most would argue this game is PVP.... funny, that PVP is ONLY about 10% of the ships blown up in this entire universe. Lookup any ship kill resource and you'll find that 90% of all ships killed are NPC targets... PVP... Really?
