I want to get into incursions running logistics. I have been training my skills and am not sure which ship is best to get into. I know that people generally run shield fleets. Should i train for caldari or minmitar 5?

Last I heard people prefer the basi for running incursions so they can run a 4 shield transfer/2 energy transfer cap chain setup.

Scims are used more in PvP where reworking a cap chain mid fight is less desirable to having self sufficient logis.

edit: it's worth noting that logi haven't been through the balance pass yet, so this could change next patch

Both, Scimi is the preferred Logi in Vanguards's and a mix of Scimi and Basi in Assaults and HQ's,

There are no Neuting BS's in VG's only a few in assaults and an occasional wave with up to 3 in HQ's, so the speed and Tracking links from the scimitar make it most desired, and the Cap transfer from the Basi makes it essential for a few sites.
Most of the time I want 3 Basi and 6 Scimi minimum for HQ's, 2 Scimi 2 Basi or 4 Scimi for Assaults, and 2 Scimi (Prefered) or 2 Basi for VG's whatever is available.

Of course it depends on who you fly with too, some communities need a constant supply of cap to keep people from capping out, and other groups require cap stable or cap buddies to prevent capping out.

Edit: Oh it should be mentioned as well that most communities will require Logi 5 trained. So after you get Caldari cruiser or Mini Cruiser to 5, you need to get the Logistics to 5 as well.

Most fits will not be cap stable till you get that done, and some fits are not cap stable even then.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

As goldiiee stated both are required, however you need logistic 5 to really make use of the fairly important secondary features of logistics.

At logistic 4, both can rep other ships, while the basilisk tanks a bit better but is depended on 2 cap transfer that another logi or BS has to give to it. On Logi 5 the Basilisk gets a lot more effective by a massive reduction for cap and shield transfer capacitor consummation.

This improves your logi 4 fitting by freeing up one cap transfer and gives you 3 new and useful fitting options:

- 4/2 fitting(shield transfer/cap transfer) -> standard fitting, similar to logi 4, but you can use the 2. cap transfer on another ship, what is very useful to handle heavy neuting and keep weapons and mwds running in HQ sites
- 5/1 gives you 25% more remote rep power, however the fitting isn't used in incs that much any more
- 6/0 you can run 6 shield transfers without cap chain(costs you quite a bit of tank) what makes it a bit more preferable as solo logi(in my opinion at least, a L5 scimi can do it to) for 11 dps + 1 logi setups
- 0/6 you can also run 6 cap transfers, generating a massive amount of cap for your fleet, and from my personal experience in my 0/6 guardian, it makes running HQ sites with lots of cap intensive ships like laser boats a lot less stressful for the other logis, since you can pre feed cap intensive hulls and give out cap nearly as quick as requested

On the Scimi you get tracking links and logi 5 gives you a lot more options with them as well, because it frees up slots that you did need for cap mods and now can use for tank or more tracking links, what makes it for many sites the preferred logi:

- up to 5 tracking links with logi 5 for VG sites
- 4 tracking links with a good tank in VGs and Assaults
- 2/3 tracking links for a mwd/ab HQ fitting

Both are very good options, the scimi might be a bit more requested for VG and Assault fleets, but at last for HQ you need a substitutional amount of basilisks to keep you fleet from not running dry on cap. With the armor logis it is quite similar, however since mwd gangs are commonly used for VGs, the guardians are also required in VG gangs and can't be replaced with Onis(that are the preferred logis for most static gang types).
