Did CCP actually sample this video? This is what the new afterburners sound like to me.

the sound reminds me almost exactly of a turbo pump spinning up (or down).

the warp drives/AB, that is.

i guess it fits with the theme of the villard wheel or whatever, basically everything has turned into high speed physical bearings. steam punk eve?

CCP have mentioned that there are sound issues in the Rubicon release, and Team Klang is working on them.

It seems to be that every time and afterburner or MWD is activated the sound takes over the whole environment of the grid. It's really annoying sometimes!!

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.   Proverbs 1:26-27

Ye i agree, i am happily talking away as i FC and all of a sudden this sound appears like a spaceship sized super hoover (possibly a super dyson - other hoover types are available) that drowns everyone and the environment out and does its best to destroy my ear drums.

Its seriously annoying......

If you're really FCing and running sound enabled at the same time, then you're doing it wrong. Ugh

i think you found the source of the sound!

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

While there may or may not be volume issues, the new AB and MWD sounds are very fitting. Something in game that actually sounds like it's got some power behind it (like the pre-incarna strip miners did).

Have to agree with the above.
The MWD spinning up as I rock up to 4-5k/sec is hella-cool. If you don't like it, mute it.

In fleet with TS you need sound off regardless...

Bro if you want loud ass ab and mwd it's all cool with me. I personally don't, but my engine now sounds like a man flipping food in a dish. See the video link above in case you don't understand that comment.
