What little PI I was doing, I've just abandoned.

Our neutral rate is 5%. Then add the default 10% NPC rate and its 15%, 2% lower than current IBCO tax of 17%. Obviously trained Customs Code Expertise shift that down to 5% and you pay a grand total of 10%

Unless I derped on one of my POCOs somewhere - and I may have as I have to configure each one as I go. Ive done like 60 of them at this point, mistakes may be made.

Yes the new NPC tax rate is 17% which before rubicon was 10%. You're not going to find many people willing to pay 15% tax considering most of the materials people export in highsec are low in P1's many of which were hardly profitable at 10%. Yes CCP decreased the PI values that are taxed but this is irrelevant since the market prices will decrease and adjust to this value. Add to the fact that if you're only extracting low end PI goods (because highsec planets high end P0 replenish rates are awful) the decreased tax is mostly useless since tax rates are based on tiers, not individual PI materials.

Also the training time for Customs Code Expertise to level V is around 11 - 13 days training so most will only go to level V (around 3.5 days). The only people who would train it to level V are people running factory planets, and guess what? They either have their own POCO's or do it in low/null/wh.

My .02

I was doing PI in a low traffic high-sec system and a corp moved in and set up their own POCO, jacked up the tax rate to make it unprofitable - so I'm done with PI because sitting there and waiting for stuff to launch is a waste of time. It sucks for me because I like to play solo and something that I've enjoyed doing is now off the table. No tears to shed, just reality and now I'll go do something else.

High sec POCO's are not worth much. Factory planets are really the only thing that might make a little isk. Its a waste of time to kill them, to set one up and to defend it.

What needs to happen is some sort of event that creates an increase in product levels on high sec planets. You are not going to get a group to fight over resources unless there are actual resources to fight over.

Are you going to buy the concert t-shirt and not go to the concert?

Same here, mostly... I have a number of low sec planets where the POCO owners understand what it means to do business, but I've basically given up on all high sec planets.

Since everyone is still quoting me...

It seems the only way one can return to 10% tax offered by CONCORD offices is by training the new skill to level 5 and using 15% base POCOs.

The blame lies with CCP, not those capitalizing on hisec POCOs, because of the built-in hisec tax. Apologies for singling-out RVB-R.

Regardless, this does not change anything for me, and I will not be returning to doing PI.

Funnier still are idiots asking 150 millions or the like to reduce taxes on the POCO they own.

Someday some of those fella will understand the advantages of having lot's of clients with slimmer margins that no clients at all.

I want to know what is the purpose of the new skill book : Custom Code Expertize.
So far, all high sec Interbus Custom Office I have visit still charge 17% even if I have that skill at level IV.
Only POCO now owned by player show a different percentage.
Explanations anyone? Bug?

All (player owned) custom offices in hi-sec have a new npc tax of 10%/5% import/export in addition to whatever tax rate% that the owner of the POCO places. If you had the skill to V you would pay 5%/2.5% + whatever tax % the player put.

Goons and RvB have 5% so you'd pay 10%/7.5% which is less than the 17% you see on interbus owned custom offices.

THAT skill does nothing to reduce the tax on interbus custom offices.

So when I read "Expertise in cutting through the red tape of customs regulations. Reduces Import and Export empire tax in Customs Offices by 10% per level." in the description of the skill book, I should add in my head "But only on POCO own by players. It has no effect on any Custom Office own by Interbus".

Great! And where is that "Between lines reading abilities" and "Telepathic Abilities" skill book! Straight

Can you come over to Tash some time, lowest rate I come across is 17% for POCO's, some are even pushing 20+ assumed they found out people were useing it for p4 assembly.

So let me get this straight. The new High Sec POCOs can be owned by anyone? And if you are red to them you will not be able to do jack with the POCOs in high sec?

https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/POCO

The above link indicates that the tax could be as high as 80% (maybe higher). Or you would not be able to access at all.

Since most of the Major Corps and Alliances will most likely control the POCOs at some point in the near future. CCP is supporting and allowing for your hard work and your playing time to support these Major Corps and Alliances, no matter where you are.

Sure you can war dec a Major Corp or Alliance and try to stop them. Good Luck.

Where is the balance in that?
