I played years ago and have recently returned. I have the following raw standings:

Amarr Empire: -4.19
Joint Harvesting Plantation: +1.55
Ahdanep Damini: +2.54

My adjusted standings are via skills are (connections 5, diplomacy 3:

Amarr Empire: -2.49
Joint Harvesting Plantation: +3.24
Ahdanep Damini: +4.03

I believe my corporation is basically zero impact as it is just me and a friend with little standings. Why do agents still show my effective standing as -2.5, even Ahdanep Damini shows an effective standing of -2.5, contrary to what is above? Am I going to have to grind Amarr to +1.0 before I can run lvl 2 missions?

No, but you will have to grind it to -2.0 (or -1.99999999)

If your faction standing is below -2, you can only run lvl 1 missions.

If your (modified) faction standing is below -2.0, it overrides any other standings. Otherwise the highest of faction, corporation, and agent standings applies.
