So CCP has just enabled DX11 for Eve Online. Now I do read that DX11 has been "long in works" for eve online, but will CCP ever make the Game able to run on Mantle?

For those who don't know, Mantle is a new API like DirectX and is made by AMD. Unlike DirectX, mantle give the designers control of the resource displacement of the game, how much to video and ext. Mantle is also more scaleable across multiple streams. However the programmers will have to code this additional feature because it was automatically managed in directX.

So CCP, will you ever utilize my AMD GCN architecture?

Chances are: No.

Why would they put resources into reworking the entire backend so that roughly half or less of their userbase could use it when the current system works for everyone?

It just doesn't make sense.
