Would it be at all possible to switch characters in game instead of having to restart the client?

Is this difficult to do? I just wish there was some sort of switch character screen without having to relaunch eve online.

It's difficult to do. According to CCP, many systems currently silently rely on the fact that your character doesn't change during one login session. Rewriting them to be able to dynamically switch between characters would be difficult and as far as I know it isn't on the roadmap.

it's not that hard to do at all even with these constraints, you just close the game and have the launcher relaunch the game already logged-in, which would dump you on character selection. Yes, this could cause security issues (storing your client login/password inside the client itself tends to do that, even if encrypted), but it's not really much harder to implement than a regular login.

They better be working on some feature that I like, because CCP is just lazy here.

Not my words, CCP's. If you really want it, I could dig up the exact quote, it's in these forums somewhere.

Having the launcher remember my passwords is very close to the top of my wishlist of wanted features.
