Please make Concord more brutal

High sec ganking is a fun sport and a nifty part of eve but it is frankly far too easy.

for about 40 mil (recurring after looting mods insurance etc) you can fit a ship that will one shot industrials.

I have no issue with high sec ganking and this is not some simple rant. I just want it to cost a bit more and be a bit more risky venture than the current one hauler one hi alpha ship vs t1 indies I thus propose 2 changes with 1 being by far preferred.

1. Make CONCORD more brutal.
COCORD is powerful but they arent brutal. In the event of HS hostilities have CONCORD use a Scorched earth method. Have them obliterate the offending ship, the remaining pod, and the dropped loot/wreck. This raises the cost of a gank to around the 100 mil range on t1 indies

2. There should be a loot recovery timer for the harmed pilot.
Yes most of your loot is destroyed but what remains should not be free game to the uninvolved conspirator indy. Looting a ganked wreck starts a 15 minute timer where in the pilot who was ganked can reclaim their stuff. The timers duration is multiplied by the security status of the system (so a .5 system you would have 7.5 minutes to recovery your stuff. The wreckes that are in this mode should display as red, accessing them with any toon that is not in the fleet of the ganked ships toon will initiate another CONCORD face melt.

Again I dont have an issue with ganking, I just think it costs too little for far too much gain, its just time to make it a little bit pricier and a bit more risky to pull off a gank and take.

your idea is bad, you should feel ashamed.

Seriously, CONCORD is fine (if not OP).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Why would CONCORD be brutal? They're a police force, not a terrorist organization. The gankers most likely only destroyed your ship - property - and you want CONCORD to pod them? As in, you want the police to execute someone for property damage?

Lore-wise, that makes no sense.

Now, about the loot timer: The wreck is already your property. The hauler guy gets a suspect flag, he can be shot by anyone without CONCORD intervention. If you want your stuff to be safe, bring a friend with a T1 frigate to tackle the hauler and get your stuff back, or bring a friend from inside your corp to loot your wreck before the gankers do.

But really, the best thing to do is not get suicide ganked in the first place. The attacks aren't random, they're in it for the money. You think it costs 40M to gank a T1 hauler? Don't carry more than 80M in a T1 hauler then, and you ought to be relatively safe.

OP, did you even try to fit some tank on any of your t1 indy ships? they can be fitted to survive 2-3 tornadoes, most tanky ones 4-5. Yes, you will lose some cargo capacity, but you cant have cake and eat it.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

i totally agree with this except i think since concord is taking a 0 tolerance stance on high sec ganking they should also pod the victim too as they have obviously done something wrong to draw the wrath of an immortal demi-god

Edit: oh i forgot to add that you shouldn't get insurance from being ganked either for the same reason, anyone who draws the wrath of immortal demi-gods wouldn't be a safe insurance risk

CONCORD should just go around podding everybody, criminals or not. That would be suitably brutal.

IMHO the insurance company shouldn't reimburse you for getting concordokken'd, but the insurance code is some legacy piece of crap like the POS's so that likely will never happen.

Also, tags for security standings was a dumb idea, it just encourages ganking behavious, which we all know is fun and doesn't need any encouragement.

OP...

- most gankers don't care about their own ships or the mods they fit to them. They are usually Tech 1 fit.

- anyone who loots a wreck that is not theirs ALREADY go suspect status (see: everyone can shoot them).

- gankers don't care about security status

- gankers often use empty pods and low SP alts (so cheap clones)

- you are asking for "one more nerf" to an already heavily nerfed activity... and the hilarious part is that it will do nothing to curb it.

If you remove profitability from ganking, you're left with terrorism as the sole motivating factor. I'm not sure a revolving "Burn Jita" is a better scenario...

I'm right there with you that I think ganking is way too easy, but this is ludicrous. This would make ganking near impossible. A simple reduction in concord timers, and a decrease in the effectiveness of security status fixing tags is all that's needed really.
