How to build the fastest traveling ship?

With the amazing changes to warping, what makes the fastest traveling ship?

Three phases to warp:

1. Align speed
2. Getting up to top speed and slowing down from top speed.
3. Top speed itself

I got a pretty good handle on how 1 and 3 work, but what exactly influences #2? Is it pure mass?

Personally I won't use implants, not worth gimping your entire char just to travel fast...

2. is entirely based on warp speed, which comes down to ship choice, rigs, and implants. This is what changed in Rubicon. Previously acceleration and deceleration were approximately the same for all ships.

Ascendancy implants do not "gimp your entire char."

How can that be true? A battleship is slow yet takes ages to get to top speed? Or do you mean its reversed... The faster the speed the faster to top speed? Doesn't seem to make too much sense...

They do for me because I want other implants in those slots...

Accelerating to warp:
Can only be affected by dropping max speed via stasis webifier or end of prop mod cycle. Does not affect fast ships, because align time is the bottleneck. Fit inertia stabs for align speed.

In warp:
Acceleration is reverse scaled by warp speed to make equal acceleration times regardless of warp speed. Thus the whole thing is only affected by warp speed. Fit warp speed rigs.

An interceptor is the answer, it does all 3 pretty much the best, it also warps fast and isn't affected by warp bubblies..

You can make a Loki that can go over 8.000m/s stable but it takes a bit of time to get to that speed and can't turn worth anything. But once it is at that speed no ship would be able to catch it.

Not anymore.

The answer is fleet ceptor, nothing else is even in the ballpark for outright speed traveling.

The answer is fleet ceptor, nothing else is even in the ballpark for outright speed traveling.


By fleet ceptor you mean interceptor?

Oh they normalized them....../sigh
