I am currently grinding standings with Federation Navy to get my first jump clones.

I guess my question should be summarized like this:

After I get the necessary standings to install a jump clone with one corporation, should I be "set for life" in terms of jump clones? While I know I can only create them at Federation Navy stations, I am then free to move them all over space (i.e. I could have a clone in 0.0, one in Jita, one in Dodixie, etc)?

I am just trying to make sure I never need to do this grind again. I am currently at L3s and already having to recall my drones 100 times a mission is getting unbearable (yes I shoot the mobs and also use a target painter).

Once you create a Jump Clone, you can get into it and move it wherever you like. The standings are only required when you create the jump clone

Thanks for the quick reply. That is what I assumed, just wanted to confirm.

Basically, it seems to make no difference who you choose to grind standings with.

Correct, who you grind standings with for JC's only limits where you can create them.

Keep in mind that there are player Corps that provide standings for Jump Clones. Like Estel Arador Corp Services.
Join that Corp, set up your Jump Clones, leave, a matter of a few hours.

I also prefer corps with a presence in all hisec racial regions.

Example: Sisters of EVE, Expert Distribution, Quafe Company, etc.

There is no reason at all to be grinding standings solely for the purpose of getting a jump clone, when EACS (linked above) provides them for free. If you don't need the standings for anything else, stop what you're doing and take advantage of others who've done the grind for you.
