Looking for some advice on life in syndicate, i am still a fairly new casual player and am in syndicate at the moment i am a solo account player. anyway what kind of ship and weapon system offers me the most versatility for belt ratting (serpentis rats) maybe someone would be kind enough to post a fit for me.

thanks

no one is gonna hand you info about living in thier back yard best thing is to grab a covo-ops and explore get to know the locals their habits and where they primarily roam to kill stuff because it sounds like you dont wanna get killed and all........

or join the local corps and jump balls deep in the pool....

Sentry drones.
Gila/Ishtar/Stratios (Covert Ops cloak!)
Therm/Kin resists; MWD.

And patience.

Belt ratting is easy. No need for a cloak if you make 1 system your home.

If you are roaming belt ratting, Ishtar, Gila, Myrmidon, Vexor, and many others work, the DPS the belts do is not much.

Just make sure you have DPS and ammo. Shoot Kinetic/Thermic when possible.

depends. Belt ratting is easy enough you can probably do it in a PVP fit ship which is one consideration. Otherwise mwd/cloak ishtar is pretty good for everything.

Sentry's are the most efficient. Make bookmarks away from the belt warp in's and shoot from there. The problem is there are no cheap sentry boats.

Cheap stuff, stuff you don't care about losing, would be a Vexor or a Prophecy.

Shield tanked blaster Vex use 2 ogre, 2 hammerhead, 1 Hobgoblin for your drones. The other 25m3 is ECM drones. Rig with shield extenders and it should be able to tank any of the belt spawns with a little practice.

The Prophecy is the no ammo cost option but more expensive to start. Again, use a shield tank and fit for max DPS. Use T1 crystals with the same drone setup as above. You get good DPS 600+ with enough tank and no ammo use.

Loot the wreaks, if your in a system without a station drop a GSC somewhere and drop off loot till it is full then haul it back to a station. Reprocess to make replacement ships and ammo. Keep the good stuff for a market run. You can also store your ammo in the GSC making the Vexor easier to run.

With the recent warp changes and the lower cost A Vexor would probably be your best bet. TBH any cruiser would work, some would be faster o kill then others. You can use a T1 frig to rat in Syndicate if you don't mind taking a long time to kill stuff.

I've ratted in the following with good success, and it does a decent job at PVP, too.

Vexor, Ratting

High
Dual 150 Railgun (x4)

Mids
10 MN AB
Warp Disruptor
Stasis Webifier
Target Painter

Lows
Medium Armor Repper
DC II
EANM II (x2)
Armor Plate (either 800 or 1600, depending upon your fitting skills)

Rigs
Aux Nano Pump
Ancillary Current Router
Trimark

Drones
Hammerhead (x5)
Hobgoblin (x5)
EC-300 (x5)

You can replace the Railguns with Blasters if that better suits your playstyle, or replace the Hammerheads & Hobgoblins with three Garde sentry drones. It all depends upon what options you prefer.

Fit with a Drone Damage Amplifier in place of the plate, it may not need the ACR (doing this on my iPad, and don't have access to EFT at the moment).

Have fun, and good luck!
