Implants and Medical Clones

I hate Medical clones. I also hate Implants. So why not merge the two?

Why do I hate Medical Clones? Because they provide no benefit aside from not losing skill points.
Why do I hate Implants? Because they provide no downfall for using.

So here is the idea.
Implants get a chance to have a negative effect if lost to the respective skills on hard-wiring (higher % bonus, higher loss). The +X attributes would also get a skill loss to a random skill. + 5 implants would have a slightly lower cost then their +4 counterparts (those 100m isk implants must do something useful). Faction implants would have a lower loss as well.

A new skill that reduces the chance of the penalty by X% per level.

I do not completely like this idea. It'd be interesting to have implants that have a chance of negative side-effects, similiar to drugs. Although I do NOT think med clones and normal implants (as they are today), should be removed.

Maybe add these as new "pirate faction" implants? They could give higher gains than their standard counterparts, but have a chance of negative effect. So the +5 variant might have 50% chance of being +5, vs -5 to whatever attribute. And the effect would last for a certain amount of time, or until the pod is destroyed.

With some work, this could be an interesting proposal.

Make 0-5 clones available via DUST 514 (something with clones is coming from them)
This way you can then have the pirate and faction sets alongside hardwirings do interesting stuff.
Also so that now being podded doesnt cost me 125 mil every time.

What are you talking about?

implants have major drawbacks, i.e the cost of the implants. flying around with billion+ isk plugged into your head is a big risk to replace
