logged on and decided to join alliance fleet leaving system soon to teach some baddies a lesson. The baddies were down the pipe five or six jumps. At the command of the FC Fleet exited station, aligned and warped to gate along destination route and jumped.

Aligned to next gate, tacklers warped ahead of the main body, jumped and searched local systems, main fleet warped on to next gate, held for a short bit then jumped. I didnt jump as quickly as others.

Next system Main fleet aligned, and I was fleet warped to gate. We held there and I wasnt sure if I was to jump or not, Scouts and tacklers ahead were stalking, trying to engage, I became confused on what I was to do. Waited to hear the command to jump or align for somewhere else or what.

The call of the FC cut through the chatter of scouts and tacklers and he said warp to ******** I looked in my friendlys overview and watched everyone jumping thru the gate so I jumped too. On the other side I frantically sorted through the fleet window looking for @#%@#$ Name so I could warp to him.

When I finally found his name I clicked warp to 10km from him, but i changed my mind at the last sec and hit warp to zero. I dont know what the hell I actually clicked on but I arrived 60km from the gate, where I could see everyone clustered ready to jump.

@#$@#$! I said. There was a few moments of silence on the coms so I aligned to the SBU I saw in my overview, as it was the nearest celestial I could warp to. You see I had a micro jump drive and couldn't imagine slow boating 60 km to the gate while the fleet waited.

As I clicked warp the FC said jump and the main fleet jumped thru. I warped to the SBU.

Imagine my surprise when I found a sabre sitting 214 km from the SBU. We eyed each other while i quickly aligned towards the gate the main fleet had jumped through and from the coms were busily engaging some awesome fleet.

The sabres distance began closing rapidly, I cursed my huge slow maelstrom for being a fat pig and dumped my sentry II's out. sadly thinking "there they go, shoot that !@#$@$ for me". I think my targeting range is 98 km so that's when i began, He was closing very fast. at 60'something km I locked him and his shields vanished under a volley from 1400's. My bouncers took out his armor.

He veered away and warped off. Just as his gang dropped right on top of where I would have been if I hadn't also warped at that exact moment. I was headed back to the gate where the main fleet had gone.

I arrived on the gate but the @#$@#$ thing wouldnt let me through so I aligned to the home route gate. Then a dramiel landed on me. I instantly hit my MJD and was able to leap out where I instantly aligned on my home gate again and was able to warp off while the dramiel was 100 km from me.

The dramiel and a host of other nasty frigate types beat me to the gate. I jumped through when I arrived , then uncloaked and immediately MJDd out aligned and warped, jumped,

The last jump though was my last, In our flight which to me felt much the same as what a buffalo, cut off from the herd, must feel as the jackals and hyenas, or in this case, the Sabres and Dramiels and Interceptors. As my journey lengthened the fleet of ships after me grew larger and larger. I was wondering where in the heck they were coming from, Finally I was tackled, surrounded, stopped in my tracks by tens of small ships I couldnt hit. I died by a thousand hits, slowly, trying to use my useless artillery, my poor lost sentry drones left at the SBU, scooped no doubt, overheating everything, cause that was all I had left, and then after my shields were long gone and my armor gone and now the hull! so I hit the self destruct key and hoped I lasted long enough to do that and then I blew and then they podded me.

While writing this out I realized several things I did wrong and will try to avoid doing those things in the future.
Im not rage quitting and No you cant have my stuff.

Just thought it somewhat entertaining

->In our flight which to me felt much the same as what a buffalo, cut off from the herd, must feel as the jackals and hyenas<- Big smile

I know that feeling as I did just about the same thing a ways back ... daym... my report would almost be the same word for word but insert myrmidon - I was able to shuck n dive for long enough that the fleet came back through on their way home an hour later and saved my lost behind *(phew)

sounds like you know where the mistakes were and unless you drink heavily while playing, prolly wont make them again Big smile

so how did the fleet fight you missed out on go?

I was once in a fleet where the FC ordered us to Warp to 30km. Since our destination was a gate, I assumed that's what he meant and began my warp. He had apparently meant 30km from him though, and I (along with a small handful of stragglers) missed the memo. We ended up ~90km from the fleet, smack dab in the middle of a 300+ red formation. On the bright side, I didn't miss the action. Unfortunately though, my poor Vexor was quickly overrun.

The one good thing about 90% TiDi, you at least get a good long time to make your final stand. It's somehow more fulfilling than just exploding on impact.

Enough about me though, props for lasting as long as you did! T'was a fine stand to be sure, and I'm sure th
