Well at least someone suggested a bookmark. That IS the game mechanic. We don't need extra game mechanics to fix our dumb mistakes. However, the time may come when you do need to probe something down. I suggest you practice. Head to Jita and grab a freighter, orca, battleship, battlecruiser, cruiser, frigate, shuttle, and depot. Start with the beginning of the list, and abandon one of each randomly in Jita. Then probe them down in that order. If you can't fly one of them, I can find someone to help you once you've purchased all the items.

What happened to that campaign you were running? Did someone scam you out of it?

Making a full API for yourself, and checking it via an API program might be your best bet. It tends to list your assets in space, and you might be able to find it's location that way. Though, mobile depots are new, so who knows if they'd show up at all.
