"Your computer only supports DX9"

"Your computer only supports DX9" is what the Launcher Settings -> DirectX says. Odd, given I run WIndows 7 and a GTX560 TI, which is validated by Nvidia to support DX11. Even odder given the Sisi client allows me to run DX11.

Ideas?

Same issue here, just different hardware. I can run about 2 dozen games in DX11 mode...

We'll investigate this. Don't worry - you're not missing out on any features running on DX9 - this is exactly why we wanted to release purely an engine update first, before adding DX11 specific features.

Features, no, but there are some optimization differences depending on the hardware and the driver layer. I was looking forward to full HDR and anti-aliasing without lag. ;)

To help debug this issue, could you copy your EVE Launcher logs to http://pastebin.com/ You can find them under the launcher\cache folder in your EVE installation, and they will be named launcher-2013-11-19.log, or similar.

Can you guys please verify for me what dx version the client actually runs on?

If you hit Ctrl-F to bring up the FPS meter, it'll show it in the upper left corner.

When I hit the FPSmeter ingame it says dx11

When i try the settings in the launcher it says dx11 is not supported and its set to dx9 without being able to switch anything.

If i run dxdiag on my win7 64bit i get the confirmation i have dx11 installed and there are no problems

When i try to play the game as it is starting i cannot play it, having fps of 2-12, while i was used to play the old expansion on full max with perfect 60 fps on intervall 1.

thank you CCP for listening to this problem when i reported this for the sisi client already 2 times.

Ctrl-F reports DX9

http://pastebin.com/tnLguPsw

That is from the last launch of the launcher. If you want the entire 167K file, please let me know

Try running DirectXRedist.exe from the EVE\bin folder - we're investigating whether our check for whether this needs to be run or not may be incomplete.

Please post your results, if this helps at all.

If I try to run DirectXRedist.exe in the bin folder, it does nothing, looks like it doesnt get started at all.

Edit: Nothing changed. Launcher still protests "I cant support dx11" while dxdiag tell me i have dx11, launcher sets dx9 in the drop down menue and I cant change it. In Game FPSmeter shows dx11! ( FPS is down to abyss, gfx and cpu core near critical heat values. Setting all gfx on minimun doesnt help either...)

DirectXRedist.exe did nothing (other than invoke a UAC request). Still reports that my computer does not support DX11, still reports DX9 in game.

According to that log file you started the game from the launcher at 16:17, and it was started with DX11. Then I see you starting the launcher a couple more times and opening settings (presumably to change to DX9) but at no point I see you start the client again. Did you leave the client running while trying to change the setting? That won't work, sorry, you need to restart the EVE client for it to be applied. (-:

I renamed my existing logs for the day to capture a fresh log of one run. Ctrl-F still reports DX9

http://pastebin.com/xjH9BLmK

BTW, I fired up Sisi launcher and now it is also reporting that my computer only supports DX9.

Do you even read what I wrote? The client dont let me change anything.

This is unbelievable, I am still unable to play the game. And what are you doing???

I opend the launcher to check if i still cant choose between dx9 and dx11 in the settings. AND I CANT.

This question makes no sense.

I started the game now like 100 times? I know the problem already from Sisi it wont help. The game starts with dx11 thou in the launcher it says dx9 and I have serious FPS issues. DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW?

Is there only direct x 11 support for Eve? My BFG GTX 285 OC only supports directx 10 although dxdiag shows me directx 11... the analytics.logs shows me lines like
"event=startgame;process=848;started=1384979848.84;cwd=I:\EVE;directx=dx11;pid=8088;safemode=False"
and I cant change in the patcher the directx setting

...whadda thas means?^^

The analytics.log is a logfile recording the events the EVE Launcher has undertaken, and their start/end times. It's not a logfile containing debugging information.

Who needs direct x 11 anyway.

Game runs perfectly fine with dx9.
I really wish they would stop with the engine upgrades so my broke ass doesn't get phased out.

But engine upgrades are so much fun!

Don't worry, we'll keep the DX9 version around for a while.

Is there a command line option to force directx9 for those with framerate issues?

I am not one of these people, I have a 6970 crossfire setup and everything is sweet for me, just trying to help others.. They sound a little frustrated..

To get around the launcher issues at least.
