This forum has been created for all those interested in PI and its advancement, to share their ideas and assistance to those in need.
Our hope is to bring a voice to PI that even CCP will hear.

I enjoy PI thoroughly. I just believe that the process of accomplishing certain tasks could be made more efficient.

Put PI improvement in your CSM platform.

ah, to be the dreamer...

I could run, but I would get no votes as I am a nobody. but then again, if this forum takes off as I hope, who knows. You know the story about about the pebble and the wave (a butterfly effect kinda thing).

I agree, the PI interface could use some streamlining. I believe there are some threads regarding facility templates in the ideas and discussion forum, which I support along with this thread.

I quit doing PI because it was giving me tendonitis. If it were streamlined I would likely go back to it. I have perfect PI skills that are collecting dust in the meantime.

This is first and foremost on my agenda. While there are many things of which could be improved, reducing the click fest is a non specific idea that would ultimately be a global improvement.

My forum is about bringing people together to discuss specific ideas on how to do just that. When thinking about ideas that CCP might buy into, I believe that the criteria for an improvement must follow certain elements:

A) Making things better does not always translate to easier... It seems when the topic comes up for making PI better, people seem to think that the goal is to make it easier, not true... improvements should be about making things operate under a "smarter not harder" mentality.

B) Isk must always flow... I believe that CCP will be more likely to improve something that brings about the expenditure of isk than something that does not.

C) It is not just about me... In most aspects, PI seems to be a solo endeavor. If I don't give my PI to my corp, outside the POCO, neither the corp or alliance has much to do with that. I don't want to go much deeper into it at the moment but... other than a POCO being "launched for corp" and the tax if applied... where is the corp or alliance involvement (I will be covering this specifically and in detail on the forum).

shameless plug... The Planetary Baron Society ... It is VERY new so there is not a lot there...but give it time...

WE WANT A BETTER PI, AND WE WANT IT NOW!

A good start would be to get CCP to extend the API to support PI.
But CCP Prism said no never gonna happen
Making them change their mind on that would be a very good start.

First post \o/

But yes, PI is in grave need of streamlining. I'm thinking the links could automatically be running the needed materials from storages to factories, because if you have a schematic running for mechanical parts, you most likely want the needed materials from the storage linked.

Or something like grouping together factories, so you'd just have to set-up one and copy the routing etc to the other.

API support wouldn't reduce the clicks, but would be welcome indeed :D

I'll support this after they "streamline" POS mechanics...an issue that's been hanging a whole lot longer than PI.

And they should really fix both things before "opening up all new unknown areas of space".

CCP has backed themselves into such a corner with this stuff at this point, I'm not sure if there is a way to truly prioritize any fixes. Although the game desperately needs new major content and mechanics too, I don't think the player base will be too happy with yet another expansion that just fixes things.

I think how these 2 issues are handled over the next year is going to be the sink or swim moment for EVE and CCP in general.

I must agree that this needs work on a GRAND scale, however, it would probably require the shutdown of DUST514 development and everything else as it would require a rewrite of so much code...
