I was wondering if anyone else has had this same thought on Mobile Depots: that they are overpowered a tadbit. I was noticing on Singularity how people immediately drop the mobile depots and immediately change their fits until they can do enough damage to destroy a ship. This seems a little to overpowering, and I can easily see this being exploited. I have a suggestion that there might be some kind of a timer or some kind of con to these, other than distance from other mobile depots. Maybe a timer after you begin combat or a suspect timer that disables usage of the Mobile Depot until the timer runs out, then you can immediately swap mods and start firing again. it won't be a huge disadvantage, and it provides you some capability to survive, but also will leave you vulnerable for a time.


Just a thought on them.

You know you can just shoot the depots, right? If you disable them while they are still onlining (not that hard), no refitting. Even better, try to disable one *while* an enemy is refitting, make them end up with a partial fit or empty slots!

The weapons timer disabling the ability to refit would be sensible, yeah.

Sure, you could just shoot them, but it seems a tad silly to refit weapons while actually shooting.

I know you can shoot the depots, but also think about the fact that while your shooting those depots, you could also be shooting the ship.

You use the word "immediately"... I don't think you understand what that word means. Have you tried on the live server to drop a depot and use it immediately? Smile

I think they should adjust the reinforce timer to 12 hours.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

You use the word "immediately"... I don't think you understand what that word means. Have you tried on the live server to drop a depot and use it immediately? Smile


Bad word usage, of course, but still with the same thought process, they way they currently run, once it anchors, the person can change out their fit, and it just seems a little overpowered. It was just a thought, nothing more. I thought that it might have the same exceptions as jumping or docking.
