Thank you to the sound team for your amazing work from Odyssey to Rubicon. I think you've got sound just about right: I can hear my ships fighting, warping is fun again, and the environment is much more entertaining.

There are a couple of niggles, mainly with the MWD noise spooling up any time we enter grid where someone has an MWD running (and spooling down when we leave that grid).

But screaming MWDs aside, I reckon you've done a pretty bang-up job!

Who do I contact about sending you folk some beer money?

+1 for the sound team from me too.

Switched on the sounds for ***** and giggles to check if there's anything new, left the sounds on when I logged off for the night.

Yep, job well done. I was sitting at POS in my CNR watching the intel channels, and started wondering 'what is that >>whooohh<< sound repeating itself from time to time, as if someone was blowing air through a big pipe'. Turns out it was the shield hardeners :) I'm pretty sure I haven't heard them before...

I'm glad they brought the "Connecting..." back. That sound brings good memories back :)

Also, I think there's a new sound when you hit your MWD too?

I like the new sounds as well. It almost brings to mind some Star Wars pod racing when I turn on my MWD.

Though, we would never really hear these things in space because of the vacuum. The only things you would hear would be the klaxon alarms and paniced shouts of your crew as your shields are vaporized, then the muffled thumps and louder explosions as some torpedoes slam against your starboard bulkheads.

Just thinking about that is kind of eerie, actually. Imagine being an observer to a battle on the scale of Asakai, with all those lasers, missles, and bright explosions; and not a sound...

Lore Explanation:

Your ship has sensors. It's using the output of those to create a soundscape to give you situational awareness through an otherwise underutilized channel. Blink

+1 for new sounds!

sound is something that's often dismissed, but when added, and in the right places, can bring immersion to a new level.

5/10 with the new sounds.

You'll get the other 5 when I get my jukebox back, because (surprisingly enough) the jukebox is one of the things that kept me going as a newbie 2 years ago.

QFT.

Although I have all the EVE music in my mp3 collection anyway, so I just use winamp as my jukebox.

As I undocked today in some low sec system to make a undock safe I turned on my MWD and was pleasantly surprised by its powerful humming. GJ Smile

Noticed on my main I could hear the strip miners again. Such a soothing sound. The powerful hum. And then when the belt rats showed up, I could hear the drones shooting. Never knew salvage drones made noise either. Pretty cool. I may have to fit a MWD on a ship so I can hear that.

The sound of salvage drones munching down has always been good but the other sounds have really improved with Rubicon

Yes, there is a minor quirk here and there... but I must say that I am delighted.

It looks like the audio issues are finally starting to get sorted out in a very positive way.

personally i feel that some features has too much noise and too strong sounds, when you have several client sounds on things start to be annoying so only option seems to put sound off.
