Why have the sentry drones been nerfed to 57k from 81k ?

Why have the sentry drones been nerfed to 57k from 81k ? they cant move for a reason... hence the range..





Is this when ccp make a crappy stab at building something... we complain why do that when you have other things to fix, Then ccp, says we complain we didn't want better extension so it gives them an excuse to do nothing. A good example of many, could be the captains quarters. .... Star Citizen cant come soon enough.

Seriously. It's a new bonus and sentries were fine without it. Now you have to add another omni. So... add another omni? Triple omni Domis are incredibly mean at all ranges. Did they really need more?

The range of my Warden Sentry drone is now... 57k.. (That is with 4 drone upgrade,3 Omni directional links and 2 drone optics Rigs ... ) Looks like sentries are obsolete and a waste of skilling.. must go back to heavy drones ???

Troll post aside, Zhilia is right, the initial sentry bonus was too much. Making something that hits at 30km by default able hit at 90+km is too much, that's a 300% increase, not to mention it can do up to 800dps with insanely good tracking.

It's still a very good bonus and sentries are still excellent

No, 57km is your drone control range.

Put your Drone Link Augmentors back on and you'll be able to shoot as far out as you did last month.

Wait...wat?

Wardens have 75+30km default range with all 5 skills. With your setup on a ship without sentry optimal bonus you get 170+30km. With your setup on a ship WITH the sentry optimal bonus you get 233+30km.

Something is hugely wrong somewhere. Even with 0 skills you should get at least 136+30km.

Please educate yourself on the differences between drone control range and drone optimal range.

Yeah you've got your facts completely wrong. Drone control range which you're referring to has not been changed in a long time (or ever but I'm not sure), use Drone Link Augmentors to extend your drone control range.

OK, I can control a drone at 110 km ... the opimal range of a warden is 50 , the engagement range is now 57k... I am looking at a pacjaged drones with the stats of 141km of an engagememnt range... ok, educated... you point?

Ugh. It didn't even occur to me that we were talking drone control range. Train that last level of EDI for 60km base and fit a DLA II for 84km. Or get back in your Ishtar. Or both.

OK, I can control a drone at 110 km (60 skilled, 25 per module) ... the opimal range of a warden is 50 ( extended with, scopes,omnis, upgrades) , the engagement range is now 57k... (yet I am looking at a packaged drone with the stats of 141km of an engagememnt range...) ok, educated... your point?

You're comparing with drone stats when in space? Those don't now and have never displayed accurately. The stats on the drones in your bay are accurate and apply when launched. Old bugs die hard.

Does it not strike you as odd somehow that it might say 57k but when you shoot at something 100km away it still does full damage to it?

Question, are you looking at the stats of your drone while it is in space? if so then you are just looking at the basic info with no bonus's applied to it.

I bet that's it - for some reason, doing "Show Info" on a deployed drone doesn't apply your hull or skill bonuses to the numbers. That bug's been there for a while; I'm not sure but what the bonuses only get applied when the drone's in your bay.
