question about rmt sites?

Wasn't there some uproar about third party sites not being allowed to directly sell ingame items/characters/isk for cash? or did i miss something?

Edit: feel free to lock thread, only created to make ccp aware of people ripping them off, i forgot to read the EULA before posting.

Just because it's not allowed doesn't mean people won't try.

This is an example of an illicit RMT venture, which will probably get shut down, or at the very least all their clients will be severely punished.

You missed that (a) the loophole used was a lot more complex than what sites like iskbank do and that (b) CCP shut that practice down.

Because CCP says so? They lay down the rules and enforces those rules. If you don't play by those rules and get cached, they will punish you...

Plex was implement precisely to give you ingame legal way to gain isk from your real world money.

Besides, would you not rather support CCP, maker of this wonderful game we all so fanatically love? After all managing server cluster, developing new features and trying to fix old ones is not exactly cheap.

If CCP catches you and docent ban you outright, they can flip your wallet. That will effectively shut you down since you have no easy way to recover from negative wallet balance. And they do follow the isk too, so if you transferred some of it in trying to lander it, they can and will punish those characters too.

With negative wallet balance you cant buy ships, pay clone fees, do anything that requires even tiny bit of isk upfront.

Make no mistake, CCP does take RMT seriously, just because they dint do something right now, docent mean you are clear. They are known to gather pile of offenders and then do mass banning at once...

No you're right. CCP decided it "wasn't an issue" and unsticky'd the threads about it. Yes. RMT is legalized if CCP likes you. If they do not you will be banned. Them's the rules of EvE.

Signatures should be used responsibly...

The ISK seller text is clearly a cheap ripoff from the chronicle with some words swapped out ("vast Amarr plantations" became "broad syrikos v plantations of the amarrians").
This is a RL offence that courts will probably take much more serious than selling virtual items. Sadly the site seems to be in Russia or so, so who knows what laws apply there.

Ok, now it's getting hilarious. The "Konrakas" chronicle says:

"These same natural forces, however, make it extremely difficult to mine these minerals, ..."

The ISK seller site says:

". howspace gamer, the same forces make it unbelievably difficult to mine the minerals. "

I saw that "howspace gamer" alot and wondered WTF they wanted to say there.

Until I realized someone ran a global search and replace of "EVE" with "space game".

HowEVEr this does not work so good :)


Obviously, if anyone even THINKS about illegally buying ISK from a site with such professionals, I have a beachside property in Northern Africa I wish to sell you.
