Ive just started using this and im having a problem.

Questions

1. Whenever i scoop up my mobile depot everything inside is kicked out into a cargo container. Is this a bug or gameplay.

2. If someone shoots my depot and i scoop it. will i recieve a kill flag.

3. Can you put stuff into the depot in a station or is it only usable in space

Thanks for the help

Well, I can address some of these. Depots aren't cargo containers when in your ship so you can't load them in station. That's also why they boot your stuff when you scoop them.

Does this mean that you cannot load up your depot with missiles and disappear into deep nullsec for a few weeks?

1. Gameplay, they drop it so you need to pick it up, if you dont have the place to put stuff in your own cargo you cant pick it up, because you think the mobile depot stays the same size when you put it in your self?

2. Ya i have no idea how they worked the agression mechanics you'll just need to test around that and see what you can work out because i am in null and i dont care about all that stuff.... yet

3. No once its in your cargo its..... smaller... its kinda "package" its not a container.

I've yet to get my hands on one -- waiting for the 'Yurt' -- but from what I understand of them after following the devblogs and the like:

1. That's gameplay. When the depot is in your cargohold, it get's repackaged and cannot carry anything (so you can't use it as a way to expand your cargohold by 4000m3..). If you've filled the depot up and need to move it, pick it up in a ship large enough to carry the packaged depot and its cargo.

2. This one I'm not sure of. However, the depot belongs to the character that deployed it, so if that character scoops it after it's been shot at, I can't imagine anything happens.

3. The depot is only usable after being deployed in space.

EDIT: @ Post #3

You can't fill the depot up with ammo and then put it in your cargo hold, as it gets repackaged. So, if you want to disappear into nullsec for a week, you either need to go set the depot up first in something like a Blockade Runner (that has enough cargo to hold the depot and all the ammo to put in it), or use a sentry/laser boat that doesn't rely as heavily on ammo.

there's zero reason to wait for a yurt. Basic mobile depots have all the functionality, are cheap and disposable, and will be a mandatory part of many ship loadouts.

Never forget.

1) Intended feature.

2) There is no such thing as a "kill flag". Scooping a depot doesn't create any combat flags. Shooting a depot will give you a suspect flag. (Even in highsec this is only a suspect flag.)

3) Only usable when deployed in space. (No you can't have a 50m³ can that can hold 3,000m³.)

Except that there is. The vastly increased sensor strengths of the 'Yurt' is most certainly worth it for how I'm going to be using the depot (i.e. leaving it in place for stretches at a time).
