[New module] Remote Warp Core De-stabilizer

Specialised warp jamming module. Reverses the polarity of any warp core stabilizers fitted to the target ship, turning them into "warp core de-stabilizers". Instead of increasing warp strength, those modules will now decrease warp strength thus preventing the ship they are fitted to from warping. Has no effect on ships without warp core stabilisers. Has no effect on warp strength role bonuses e.g. venture.

Penalty: this module cannot be fitted at the same time as traditional warp jamming modules.

Warp jam strength: 2x the number of WCS fitted to target. (Zero if target doesn't have any WCS).

Additionally, make T2 warp core stabs useful by giving them immunity to this module.

So you mean something like HIC point but worse?

Focused warp disruption script can catch anything, but can only be used by HICs. This module could be used by any ship, but only catch ones with WCS. Swings and roundabouts.

WCS's already have a counter called extra points & scrams.
They also have seriously crippling downsides for any ship that wants to still be actually combat capable.

Stop asking for a module to beat the guy who fit to beat your fit.

Nobody who wants their ship to be combat capable puts warp core stabs on there. Stabs are used when people want their ships to be GTFO capable. The penalties should be to sig radius and agility rather than lock range and scan res, but that's a whole different discussion.

What's stopping pilots from offlining WCS?

Just brainstorming this.
Since you can't have scram and this module fitted at the same time.

Absolutely nothing. Emergent gameplay at its finest :)

I don't think it's a nerf to faction warfare. If anything it's a buff to the 'warfare' aspect of faction warfare.

So basically you want a point, which is not a point... gotcha.

Maybe refine your idea better?

People keep suggesting already existing ways to catch people with WCS. Fit more points, fit faction points, or even bring friends.

Nerf stabs/cloaks in FW? No, just.. -Fit more points -Fit faction points -Bring a friend or two with points (an alt is fine too)

No, they got it right. With the huge penalty to lock range and scan res, pretty much the only offensive capability a pilot can reliably perform with one or more installed is a bomb of some kind, smart or otherwise. I have always assumed this was done intentionally.

Wouldn't it be easier and more versatile to use a second scram or even second and third warp disruptor (for greater range)?

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

Has gatecamping become such an effort?

The only thing I can see in this proposal is that you want to have at least two ships at a gate. The one has your module to catch anything that has WCSs fitted and the other one is in place to catch anything without WCSs.

Broken down, this sounds to me lilke: "I want my easy indu kills back."
