Since it takes only one minute to activate, you can easily launch it, watch dscan while waiting for it to online, refit / repair / fit probes/cloak / swap subs etc. in no time. It doesn't offer the comyness of a forcefield, but you can still switch to a cloak, scoop, cloak up and have tea with guests :>

Exactly. Who cares if it is scannable, you shouldn't leave it deployed unless using it. You don't need 3000m^3 of space since you're not soloing a C3 in an Industrial to begin with. Bring a medium secure container in your T3/BC. Anchor it at a deep safe, put your depot in it. Refit for DPS, run sites. Refit for tractor/salvage (or use the tractor deployable), collect your blue loot and nano ribbons (which take hardly any cargo space), drop off at your container (which is 100% unprobeable). Repeat until all sites are done. Refit for cloak/nulli, haul your stuff and loot out. Unless you don't check d-scan while you're at your safe spot onlining/using your depot your loot is safe.

If you did get an Industrial into the hole one time and anchored a larger secure container then you could live there much longer. Maybe also bring a few extra small secure containers and anchor them plus additional depots around the system and you're good until your one ship is eventually ganked while running sites.

If they are cheap, why not deploy 5-10 of them at same spot, 1 you use then the rest as decoys.

‘Yurt’ Mobile Depot are super difficult to scan down. From what I have read.

They do not hold a lot (store stront etc) but enough to store loot/mods and whatever else.

The RF timer as well as being able to scoop from it while it is RF'ed is really nice as well.

Depending on the price of it just leave it rofl.

We shall see. I know that I will be cloaked up next to it waiting for you :-)

Am I reading too much into http://www.eveonline.com/rubicon/features/mobile-structures/? It reads, "As they can be deployed in any system of known space", and I was wanting to use them in wormholes. That sentence seems to indicate, to me, that they can only be used in known space and not wormholes. Sad

I can't find the quote but afaik depots are actually partly designed to help small groups and solo players get into WH space.

heh.......can't wait for the time that someone logs off at their depot, logs in to find 4 bubbles rapecaging it.

Moral of the story--always store a cloak in your depot, pray you have enough time to fit it and activate it before hotiles show up.

The mobile depot is more an emergency survival pack, isn't it? Big smile The more I think about it., the less I think this has a place as an actual 'home' in deep space.

I intend to use mine for small-gang refits in wormholes. That way you don't have to gimp a combat ship with hacking mods and salvagers when you're clearing a site. Come in guns a-blazing, clear the site, refit for opening spew cans/salvaging. Repeat until you've farmed a system to your liking, then head out.

I played with the basic depot in my wormhole this morning. I think it will be handy for a temporary fitting station. I activated it, use the fitting service, and then popped it back into cargo, since it packages back to 50m3. That should work nicely on my forays into other connecting wormholes.

yes but is the risk worth the ISK you can make?

no, it isnt.
use an orca for this if you must, at least it can cloak.

note: put one IN your orca too so that you can refit it but dont live off it.

Here's the optimal usage in wh:

Set KWIF to red. Follow one of them from Jita to their wh entrance. Drop a scout in. When the system is clear of KWIFFERs drop your little space hut off a planet. Cloak a HIC and some T3 battlecruisers at appropriate ranges (out of proteus point range for example). Have a drake make a few wrecks on d-scan then loiter at the space hut. Wait for their combat probes to spring the trap.

Killing the sleepers will light up their mapping tool. Once they see the activity on their tool they will head that way.

If you get the lone proteus/loki - uncloak gank and loot.

If you get the 40 man glory fleet - uncloak and gank their guardians and see if they hang in for more losses or run once their guardian safety blanket is popped.

Disclaimer - kill it with fire was used only as an example. I chose them because of their kool ticker - KWIF and the ability to use KWIFFERS. It's only logical that this will work on any wh group that has an active KB and goes to Jita to shop/sell loots.
