Launcher Error when updating for Rubicon - FIX!!! (windows)

go to your game directory/ launcher / appdata / eve_Online_launcher_2.1.613956.win32 /
and start the launcher from there. It will start updating again.

P.S. repair.exe won't fix this since it is ignoring the launcher folder.

Guys, learn to read. If you see email.utils error in your error log, then you don't start the launcher from the folder i told you.
The original (good ol' launcher) is located in "eve_Online_launcher_2.1.613956" not the folder you are starting it from.

You may also just launcher the faulty launcher again. when the status message at the bottom flickers, restart it once more. The launcher will revert to its previous state and redownload the update again.

Right now just to break again as well of course

same error even after the proposed solution.
Found a thread concerning the same problem from a year ago here:

Sadly the proposed solution doesn't work anymore (at least not for me as I couldn't find a working download for our beloved new launcher




p.s. fun fact: test-server launcher is working perfectly well, so whatever went wrong, they didn't screw up twice ;)

This works to some degree, for me it opened the client but wasn't downloading when i saw it got further than the rest i closed that launcher and opened my original and it all clicked back together and started downloading properly.

I tried now and it's downloading the update. Well see if the game starts after download.

Yes, you do have to close/open again to be able to start downloading the patch. However the fix was about the launcher window so i guess it's working 100% :P

Did as the op suggested and it ran a loop between ready and validating.

So all I did was quit the launcher and restart it and it is downloading now. 1.2 gig wtf?

go into the cache folder and use updater worked for me Lol

Did as OP suggested, launcher ran fine again, it did a small update than stopped. Closed launcher and reopened via normal means and it is now downloading the 1.22gb Rubicon patch just fine.
