In every MMO I have ever played it seems as though the dev team does not do a good job on the UI. Eve is no exception.

I see that another thread has a downloadable overview setting package. I want to learn how to actually manipulate the overview with skill. Can anyone point me to some good guides? Please do not post a "just download one from somebody else". I see the thread above and am aware of some other downloadable settings. I want to actually learn how to modify this thing by myself. I would however appreciate some tips on what makes a good overview.

In this case, Youtube can be your best friend as the overview system is best explained visually rather than through text + screenshots. A couple of notable channels with overview setup tutorials are:
