I just turned into an egg, did I level up? I spent an hour trying to salvage a wreck, when in local a guy said "Stop it, this is my Tempest, I was AFK"

Can anyone point to a dev post or a statement of some kind that they're happy with loot spew and don't intend to change it?

I've not heard one person say that they think it's a good idea. With the SoE ships coming out and probably more people trying these exploration sites, won't the complaints only increase?

I wouldn't give a rats ass if good loot was made more rare or the average amount of loot in a site was reduced to balance the market for these items. As long as I knew I damn well cleaned the place out.

It's already enough of a pain in the ass to find the sites then scan them down then beat the hacking game. But getting trolled by the game at the last step in the chain by missing the blueprint or whatever.

I mean who thought this was good game design?

Aiight who is the guy who thought to himself that created the new hacking mechanism.

Sure it's fun with the hole click this and click that. Yay I hacked it successfully "high five my b1tches".
However my biggest problem here is the fact once it's successfully hacked open.
The mofo stuff escapes the container and eventually disappears in matters of seconds.

Who the hell came up with that wasteful ideal?

So since there is no turning back with the way hacking used to be.
Can anyone with experience tell me how I can crab all those floating
Items into space before they all vanishes?

Would really appreciate it.

Eve rocks but hacking sucks!

Put you ship directly above or below whatever you are hacking at about 1000m. Zoom out a little. When the spew starts move your mouse over all the cans to identify the parts and data containers. Ignore the rest. Only click once unless you want to chase a can that has drifted too far for the tractor beam (3000 meters or so for me.) Easy peasy.

I like it as well and also pay to play. I like needing friends for the best results.

This is, after all, a multiplayer game. To play it to its full potential you should need friends.

Besides, if it just pooped out a can that would be boring as hell and way too easy.

You have no data to back that up. The fact that you dislike something does not mean everyone does. Please just state what you think and don't presume to know what 'the majority' thinks.

You don't get the best results with a friend. You get worse results. Because they made the cans scannable and named them in order of quality. So you have competition for the parts cans, rather than grabbing them all alone. Is there something not understood about this?

If you know which cans to grab you can usually always get what you want. If you got everything the stuff would sell cheaper, so you'd make less profit anyway. So it doesn't make any difference.

Then you are doing it wrong. Two people can grab all valuables with some coordination. And then you split the loot afterwards. I am actually face palming because you needed this explained to you Lol

Then you get half of everything, rather than 80-90% of everything. What?

If they are supposed to be more profitable for pairing up why is literally no one dual boxing datas and relics?

You're reply doesn't even make sense re: what I was saying.

So you want someone to help you but not share the profit equally. You must be a very popular person.

Im my experience doing it solo can net you 90% of the good stuff, you'll probably miss a few cans. Technically that's more profitable then doing it in pairs. Considering the cost of a T2 explorer you are better off pairing with a buddy in a PVP cruiser who keeps an eye on local while you hack or something. Another option would be to simply do a hacking game each, blitz the sites and move on quickly.

I remember real paper RPG that had this sort of hacking game in it... Oh yeas this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberpunk_2020

CCP could you have done something more original here? Current hacking game looks like almost direct rippoff...

Whatttttttt

Solo = 80% loot grabbed, 20% flies into space. Divide by 1 = 80% of loot per person.
Pairs = 100% of the loot grabbed, 0% flies off into space. Divide equally by 2 = 50% of loot per person.

80% is a bigger number than 50%.

Shocked

80% is just a guess for relics, for data it should be faaar higher, I've never lost a decryptor or rarely a BPC to space, 90% for data or higher is normal.

The current system discourages grouping, economically. A better system would be for ships to pool their virus HPs and DPS and the hacking game designed so that > 2 times as many containers are successfully hacked by a pair of ships than by a single ship. That would be a real incentive for grouping. The loot spew is fail. Naming the containers is just nonsensical, why would anyone grab scrap metal?? What is the purpose of the scraps container? It may as well not even exist.
