I'm really new (2 days) but I've just recently been killed while mining. Concord sent me a kill right and my corporation wants me to share it with them so they can get revenge, but I have no idea how to activate it or share it with them.

Can someone please help me? @-@

If your corp wants you to share it but did not explain how and you need to come here to ask you probably should find a new corp.Blink

Kill rights are shared through the character sheet.

Kill rights are activated while the player is on grid, you choose them in the overview and then click on the cross hairs that are in the top right corner.

Also, google FTW

Thanks! I could have sworn I looked there, but I guess I didn't do it well enough.

Just to add a bit of information, when a kill right is activated the target will go suspect for 15 minutes and anyone in the vicinity will be able to shoot at them.

Did your corp also tell you how to avoid getting killed while mining? If not.....new corp.

Just note if you make it too cheap and available to everyone (not just your corp like you want to), he may elect to just use an alt to clear the killrights.

A question on the specifics of Kill Rights.

I clicked the cross hairs on someone who had kill rights on them and chose Activate.

A suspect flag appeared on him.

I targeted and shot him.

Concord blows me up.

Is there a time delay or something for me to be able to shoot? I am open to the possibility that I did something wrong in the above steps, but all that I have read show this is how it works. I also watched a couple of videos of someone doing it...I did it exactly like they did.

Can anyone tell me what I got Concorded?

Thank you so much in advance.

Was your safety off and were you targeting someone else at the same time?

My safety was OFF and I was not targeting anyone at the same time. The other ship and I were the only ones on grid....except for Concord of coarse.

Thank you for replying.

Also your corp looks useless.

So it might be better to share it with somebody that might actually kill this person. Somebody like me.

Although it might be useless to share it if the person in question is already -10.

Haha.

Calling Cannibal Kane a moron is the most stupid thing you can do in EVE.
You are the less smart person here for calling names while you yourself necro the thread.

Good luck, and you will need it, now in your game after calling one of the most feared and well known Empire PvP player a moron.

On the CONCORD part...what weapon did you use.
Are you sure it was CONCORD and not just the suspect fighting back.

Lol! There are probably more dangerous pilots in EvE that you could have insulted. But off hand I cant really think of any.

Good luck and God speed!

He is extending an offer to help the person get back on the gankers, while providing him with information that (while maybe not directly asked by the OP) is an extension on the original question and might be something the OP is not aware of.

Now the OP knows that if the person is -10 the kill right is practically meaningless, and have this information if future ganks occur, and when Kane offers to help every new player should jump on the chance.

Edit. Just realized you necroed the thread. Next time you want a response to your specific question you might want to create your own thread Smile

Without having been there it is impossible to say. Killrights have always worked correctly for me. My guess is that you did something that you aren't telling us. Personally, I keep my safety yellow in highsec, except on my suicide ganking character. I recommend you do the same.

If you think that you did everything right and still got CONCORD, you should file a petition.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will set it at yellow as you suggested. EVE has so many little things that its hard to know and understand all of them. I am ALMOST positive that I did exactly the way i posted but am open to the possibility that I didn't. I did open a petition on the hopes at the very least I find out exactly what I did wrong if it wasn't the game mechanic messing up. Thank you all for your kind suggestions.

I do apologize for necroeing the thread. I'm not that versed in forum etiquette....I will do better next time I ask a question.

And I will just say that I apologize for calling one poster on this a 'moron'. I just lost a ship that I did not understand why exactly,, after using a game function for the first time, then posted a question after doing a search for Kill Right Activation - and responded on a thread that was on topic...of sorts. Was looking for answers and got a response that was derogatory and not helpful to my post. I am sorry.

Thank you again for all that have posted to try to help me understand this issue.

Tbh, there was nothing derogatory in Cannibal Kane's post.

Just useful advice, an indirect offer of assiatance and the observation that the Corp in question is obviously not providing you with this basic info, nor assistance in dealing with the kill right.

And you reply with an insult. No, its you who have been derogatory here (to the point of violating board rules).
And without any just cause. Sorry to say.

This.

Last time I called someone a moron, it resulted in a 30 day forum ban. So you are actually beyond the forum rules. But as it's not allowed to discuss that or the way forums are moderated. *shrugs*

I still think you did something wrong, either on purpose or on accident, that got you CONCORDED.
And as nobody was there on sight, nor can check the game logs, it's near impossible for us to see what happened and where it went wrong.
