+1, hire him.

He's a huge boon to the community. Me and my friends resubbed only because he was streaming the big fights and we realized "somewhere" out there is actually people shooting at each other which means this game might not be completely doomed yet.

You needed a poorly delivered stream to realize that people were shooting at each other in a PVP game? Wow, you sir are a genius.

And smaller gang stuff is funner since you don't have to sit for hours waiting for your guns to cycle and reload constantly. At least with small gang, it's more energetic and funner in my honest opinion. But then again there are a lot of people that like the larger fights, but they're not for everyone.

CCP's own team should be able to do this without Ani.

And have the 'Space news broadcast' shown on the large flat screen in the captains quarters ^^

His stream is not up to par at all and to pay him for something CCP can do better is absolutely not a good idea.

I would vote no on the issue. and I do so as someone that has watched Mr. Mad's channel almost everyday but only because it's there along with several other streams on Twitch.
To be honest there are people who do a better job of showcasing EVE when they stream it's just that they don't do it everyday 24/7. those people haven't been unemployed for almost a year though. they have day jobs.

As an EVE Subscription Holder I would enjoy an official game stream channel from Scope where the viewer can see what life is in New Eden from what's selling on the marketplace to live FW battles to Alliance politics to suggested fits for a such and such ship. pay some ISK to several random players from all corners of the galaxy to send a live feed and have someone in studio do a play by play on what's going on.

CCCP can do better at self promoting the game themselves via real players who are grinding it out everyday 24/7 and not just watch outposts for 22 hours and a bunch of colored dots shoot at each other for 2 hours.

Having watched his stream go from 'I will only ever run ads during downtime' to 'I will run ads all through the day, but never during any fights' to running ads during big fights because that's when he gets the most viewers, I vote no.
Despite what CCP tells you, greed isn't always good.

Ok so if this is going to be the accepted norm for getting an application noticed by CCP - did you even submit one Mad Ani? - and if the crowd is going to go by eve related content providers - which I'm not necessarily against btw - then you and your hat need to get behind a Loooooooooooong list of contenders I could put forward as contributing far more than you ever have or ever could.

Try these on for size :

CCP Chribba

CCP Mangala Solaris

CCP The Mittani (I know I'm gonna pay for that one but we're going for content and contributions here)

CCP Garmon

CCP Daopa

CCP BioHazard

the list goes on and on and on and unfortunately - in the not so humble opinion of this pundit - you are so far down the list I recommend reapplying around the same time the 3rd Decade Collector's Edition comes out.

TLDR:
I WANT JOB BECAUSE I PLAY GAME.

Seriously if you want a job at CCP games do it through the correct means don't go on the forums and try get a Mob behind you so that you can try and pressure CCP to give you a job.

That's unprofessional and a embarrassment to the rest of the people who worked hard to get jobs at CCP or are trying to get a position there, you should be ashamed of yourself for even posting this thread, if CCP Wanted to hire you they would have contracted you already, this just screams out that you want attention.

You cant say that you haven't profited off streaming so don't go looking for CCP to give you a job just because people watch you live stream, if that's your idea of a good job application then go stream another game and apply to them as well.

Also you state that the laptop you use to stream is more stable?
Surely you cant be serious as desktop hardware is miles more powerful than mobile hardware.

Also i quote "Unlicensed music? Heard of Spotify and YouTube? Next..."
Just because its on YouTube doesn't automatically mean its licensed a lot of the most played versions of songs on YouTube are non publisher/license holder uploaded songs.

Also there are at least 10 people off the top of my head i would say have contributed more and deserve a job more at CCP than you do.

OMG! Look at that OP edit rant!

Officially renamed you UMad_Ani. Way to completely lose it and prove everyone right (which is to say you are totally wrong for any kind of responsibility on a WOT of rage, condescension and defensiveness. You really do think you are better than the rest of us right?

What does "You achieved your goals by making this post" mean? - That you achieved making an ass of yourself?

BTW, for future reference (Like you don't already know) you post your replies IN the thread just like your spam in your Twitch thread in this channel. That is if you are not afraid of getting a reply to your posts, because very few of us go back to the OP to look for edits.

There are far more informative, higher quality, and generally entertaining streamers that represent the Eve community as a whole much better than the almost seizure inducing clusterfuck that is his channel.

TLDR: Taking shortcuts in business is bad, and always say no to giving your money away on a bad business proposal.

Is Mad_Ani offering a service that CCP asked him to perform or that CCP is offering as a current job? No.

There are thousands of fan sites and media generated from this game to serve the same purpose and perform better. I do not see Chribba begging for a job for the handful of sites he provides. Nor do I see anyone that has worked on the wiki's or Youtube asking for handouts. Other people have made their fair share of profits from their real life ventures involving this game using the resources they have available to them. Use your advertising revenue to cover you and build your channel like all the other successful twitch streamers. They already support you enough with all the name dropping they do on social media sites. They have dropped your name on their tweets more then any other streamer of EVE.

Is he a great representative to the EVE community? No, not exactly.

His coverage is extremely narrow and only covers pvp in regards to null sec blob warfare. There is very little EVE education on his channel. A new player or a random viewer would have no idea what was going on in Mad_Ani's channel. At no point does he explain why the people are fighting nor does he explain what are they fighting for. It is not an educational channel. It is a "wow those other guys are blowing of spaceships" Channel. I haven't seen any coverage of any other style of EVE battles. Roaming, Empire Warfare, Factional Warfare, Wormholes. If he represents any part of EVE, it's the AFK cloaking intel gathering side of it.

What do you offer that is different from any other successful streamer on Twitch? And Why (other then "My fans told me to") beg for a job at a company?

I am not going to drop any names of the hundred other successful twitch streamers or the thousands of successful youtubers that don't work for the games/hobbies they represent. Most of those streamer have earned sponsorship, generate thousands in ad revenue (on youtube or twitch), or receive thousands in donations. All of the successful streamers or actual media creators have built their business focusing on their core competencies and building their businesses so that they could (if they wanted to) quit their real jobs. The ANI channel offers nothing that CCP could not out right just copy, do a superior job and do without the copyright infringement. There is nothing that prevents your competition from copying you other then their willingness to break a few laws....ie copyright laws. Business is war and people are going to attack your business and the people you represent.

How can a real corporation, that would be liable for your actions, trust a person to represent them when that person uses music that they did not create nor have posted any proper credit to the artists?

Respondeat Superior. "Let the master answer". DMCA, EVE's EULA, these are things you are going to have to without question understand and be able to defend your business. "Spotify and Youtube, so I can do it" is an excuse. Excuses don't work in court battles.

Someone doesn’t understand licences.

You are broadcasting music, owned by other people, in public for a for-profit service. You, my boy, need a licence. Specifically, you need a PPL and a PRS licence. The PPL licence is based on number of performances, the basic one gives you up to 270,000 per annum. They count 1 performance as 1 song broadcast to 1 listener. So if you play 2 songs and there are 1000 people watching, that’s 2000 performances. Going by Mad Anis own figures of at least 150 people watching, say 5 minutes per song then you’re looking at 43,200 performances per day AT LEAST. If you’ve got the 8000+ people for 24 hours in a year that’d be over 2 million performances. So you need the unlimited licence, £690 (+VAT) + £100 admin (+VAT) per year. Oops. Looks like you should have done a bit more research before you commercialised other peoples music.

You also need a PRS licence. I don’t know the costs to hand for that one but it’s also performance based. Theres other issues with the fact that people can rewatch your streams meaning you are offering other peoples music, for free, to be played as many times as someone wants. I’m not too sure on the legalities of that but there’s another licence involved.

The point is, you claim you want to do this for a living, people watch your stream, you put effort into it. Why shouldn’t you get money for it? However, what about the people who want to make a living creating music? You’re taking their work and using it to further your own and not giving them and form of reimbursement. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Also chiming in on the music use issue. How would you like it if I cross streamed your stream with different music and patched over all your ads with my own?

Could you? I would love the stream with no one talking and some nice classical music. Big smile
