So this is the "I haven't played EVE for ten years, but I'd love to be in some sort of club, so I'll make a club that requires someone to have been ingame for seven years, just like me."-club

'06ers?

Damn Whippersnappers!

Get off my undock!

Oh, you need to have been subbed the entire time to be in your club?

Yup, I've been subbed every day since this character was born.

Just try and prove that I wasn't.

I have started playing Decembre, 27th 2003, gave away the char i started with in 2005. I was young and did ragequit, due to some really annoying bugs, that got some expansive ships killed and not many of them were reimbursed. And came back 2 month later, because all other games seemed to be kinda boring and restrictive after experiencing the freedom in eve :).

If you check this char you will see it is just 2 days old. I am just not posting with my main, because I do not want people to know that i am active these days. Basically taking a break from alliance business :).

The thing i remember most about the old days is how much harder it was to make ISK and that losing something like a battleship could actually hurt your wallet, not even speaking of how long it took to make the money for a ship like that.

Ships and weapons were extremly unbalanced. My favorite solo ship was the scorpion (before missiles had the explosion radius and explosion velocity attribute and dealt full damage to any target they reached. Also jammers were a lot more efficient and had shoter cycle times, was a nice ship to kill small gangs solo :).

We only had frigs, cruisers, battleships, shuttles and industrial ships. Most ppl only had 1 account and mining in high sec was a group activity. (Stopped mining the day i got my Scorpion and the insurance together and turned to the dark side).

More than 20 ppl in a fleet was a quite big fleet :). In EU prime time having 2.5k players online was a lot :).

Ships bumping each other at insance speeds sometimes when "gang warping" (fleets were called gangs at that time).

T2 BPO lottery.

Well.. i am gonna stop here.... if i would give you a complete list of things that were different I guess i will run out

Just trickled past my 7th EVE birthday: 12 Nov 2006

Giving out free candy if you get in the back of my van.

Also, have been pretty much subscribed the whole time apart from maybe 6-8 months in total? Back when I was in Uni, sitting for exams, and ghost training was still around Lol

Haha, it would be worst if the roleplaying was being a cry baby asking mom to change diapers.Lol

I'm in. Although 7 years continuously subbed is a lot.

Many highs and many lows.

While balancing iteration continues to improve, I long for those heady days of game changing expansions and entirely new ways of playing. Seeing an upcoming expansion with an amazing CGI trailer and getting damned excited for what was ahead.

Posting in another "back in the day" themed bittervet thread

played since 2K5. there's a lot of things that can be said about old EVE, but they've already been said in the last 9,001 other threads about this topic.

nothing to see here, move along.
