some of you may or may not have heard about this charitable event coming up where you get donations to sponsor your 24 hour gaming rampage. all of this money goes to the childrens miracle network hospital of your chosing. this year B O R G alliance has sponsored a team for this event that ANYONE is free to join. I would appreciate it if we could show our support as a whole community for this event and either join the team and pledge to do this 24 hour gaming or by donations.

I don't think he's trolling.

There is a whole forum section called "In-Game Events and Gatherings"

How about you try posting it there.

Its a valid cause (tbh who gives a flying **** if its in the wrong section, ISD's will move it if they so deem) and I would join in but RL does not permit me to do a 24 hour gaming session.

Great cause though + 1

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

TL/DR version- write the hospital/needy family a check instead.

I just wish the charity's website claims and their financial statements matched up. They might technically give 100% of your donations to the hospitals, but that's a marketing gimmick. The hospitals are forced to pay a licensing fee to be the exclusive hospital in their area. Let me be clearer: the hospitals have to pay to receive the money, and to cut out competing local hospitals. Doesn't sound like 100% to me. I did not read every year's statement, but noticed on one that the charity paid for a $150,000 party for Marie Osmon that did not sound like an event to raise money for the charity.

To be fair, independent charity ratings agencies have reported that this charity distributes 89% of the money they raise- which is good. I also give them credit for replacing their former CEO who was charged with multiple counts of fraud for activities unrelated to this charity.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

i dont know about previous years, this is the first time ive heard of it, how ever i do know that when creating your profile and joining a team you pick which hospital you want it to go to.

Thank you BORG alliance for actually doing something for charity. I will see if I can join your roam closer to the actual day.

Hardly matters really, those same kids get owned everyday by doctors who refuse them treatment unless people like us help make them rich with donations. "There is not enough money to treat all these children," you read... yea... I bet, when your sticking their parents with a bill of $6.00 for a single aspirin (the pill not the bottle) and pretending like an ambulance uses $2,000 in gas, plastic wrap, IV fluid and salary on the way back to the hospital.

I truly believe in helping others, especially children in need and those less fortunate than myself. However, as much as I believe in helping others, I can't help but notice who the original poster is... Khan Farshatok. For those who don't know, Khan has been known by many other names, including Skiddo. Who is Skiddo you ask? Well, please refer to this link:

http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=1436201

Not only does he think of himself a great scammer, but he feels so insecure in himself that he has to vainly attempt to garnish some form of public praise for his "accomplishments." How do I know he was once Skiddo, well... he's admitted to it in a voice recording, and even further deities himself above the common folk of EVE.

https://soundcloud.com/sdwebservices/address-to-the-state-7-3-13 (skip to ~1:08)

Here's a written script of his speech:
http://www.whitetalon.com/?p=284

Perhaps the most insulting thing about himself is his self proclaimed "leader of the Caldari Militia." Hmmm... didn't he just lose a massive civil war against Born-2-Kill earlier this year? I believe B2K managed over 3.5B worth of isk in kills, and B O R G only scored just shy of 785M isk. An impressive feat for such a "great leader." Khan ended up removing his alliance from the militia...

A perfect example of his FC skills...

http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=17548213

Khan was the FC of a Cal Mil fleet that had 3 carriers and a couple dozen sub-cap ships - their goal was to conquer the IHUB in Agoze. Khan had the brilliant idea to fleet warp the carriers to the IHUB (with neutrals in system) and then the fleet was immediately hot-dropped. Khan then had the audacity to dock the fleet and witch hunt an imaginary spy. I was there... his reasoning for warping the carriers was to demoralize an enemy that really didn't give two s***'s about the IHUB - good job mate!

Call me a troll if you must, but be aware of who this pilot really is. I wouldn't be surprised if this is some attempt to scam pilots out of their wallets, or some way of awoxing the fleet.
